I had heard that this song (11 days of Christmas)was to teach Catholic children under Cromwell or similar ruler, but this is the first time I’ve seen it!

I meant in a memetic / ‘Internet’ sense, not to insult any Eastern Catholics

Alas, while the theory is interesting, that is not the origin of the song.

Also, you may be surprised to know that some Protestants believe that the song was written by Protestants to teach their children while the Catholics were suppressing Christmas. I had to disabuse my wife of this notion recently. It’s really quite an absurd belief, but a great many Protestants hold quite absurd views of what Catholics believe, and all manner of conspiracy theories arise as a result.

My personal theory is it’s a drinking song that got elevated. It just seems like the sort of thing that would make sense after some boozy christmas celebration.

Very appropriate for the feast of the Chair of St. Peter. At Mass today, the priest’s homily was all about answering the question Jesus poses of “Who do you say that I am?” So this is extra funny for me today. 🙂

1 Corinthians 10:16: “The cup of blessing which we bless, is not a participation in the blood of Christ. The bread which we break, is not a participation in the body of Christ”

This is the how many unfortunately read Paul… 🤣

I don’t understand what you mean by the “People who read Person A Posts.”
