Stupid and adolescent, both.

Newton North High School is in a fairly heavily Jewish area, btw.

The problem is it sounds to Jews like a resurgence of Nazi propaganda - especially with what we are seeing in the GOP Presidential campaign.
I was born to a Jewish family, converted to Christianity as a teenager and became a Catholic as an adult.

So if it is any re-assurance, I don’t find anything remotely “Nazi” about a group of teenage boys hurling whatever convenient insult comes to mind at an opposing sports team.

I’d be much more worried about an over-reaction that threatens free discourse than any grievance mongering that might arise out of this.

Do you know that in my Catholic high school, only I and a small group of other souls kneel at the consecration at Mass? We are like a little remnant…and it’s scary…
Remnant? sigh 😦
I know what you mean.
Praying your and your friends inspire others to greater reverence.
Last month, the entire student body of St. Petersburg Catholic High School in St. Petersburg, Florida, was called together to hear a deceptive presentation on “Islamophobia” from the notorious Ahmed Bedier, who openly supports the jihad terror group Hezbollah and has worked for the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

When I was teen back in the 70’s my Catholic religious instructors told me that religious figures and such…like and similar to Mohammed were the false prophets Jesus warned us about.
Fast forward…today
Somehow I don’t think Pope Francis meant to invite proselytizing Muslim men to the stage at Catholic schools in his One God video.

Bedier’s invitation to speak to Catholic teenagers bothers me on many levels but when you apply the fact that Hamas is notoriously anti Israel along with the OP’s story…

Council of Florence: The most Holy Roman Catholic Church firmly believes, professes, and preaches that no one can be saved, unless he remain within the bosom and the unity of the Catholic Church.
I guess that teaching has been changed, since it is now taught that a Jew can be saved?

Hello!

Actually, the Catholic teaching never changes. But here is what this particular teaching means: None can be saved without the Catholic Church. Yes, a Jew, or Muslim, or protestant, can get to Heaven, but it will be harder.

AND if they do get to Heaven, it is through the grace of Jesus Christ, even if they didn’t realize that on Earth.

So we teach that doctrine differently now, but the actual doctrine is still the same. 🙂
