I have heard a lot of talk about how there is a need to make religious music relevant to young people. I have also seen a lot of posts where people who are heavy metal fans :knight1: question whether they should be listening to some bands because of the questionable lyrics.
Well, I ran across this Playlist on Youtube for Catholic Metal Bands:

I listened to a few of them and found nothing theologically problematic. In fact, their style of music reflects a spiritually passionate kind of Catholic Christianity. They might even be more effective in expressing some of the more difficult concepts of the Faith, like the suffering of Christ, the Dolours of the Blessed Virgin, and the idea of a sacrificial life. No superficial treatment of spiritual themes here.
Anyway, listen to some of the songs and see what you think.
