Papa linguam Latinam commendat
30.03.2007, klo 15.19
Mense Februario (22.2.)

Pope recommends Latin language

In the month of February (2/22) the Roman Pontiff gave a post-synodal exhortation named “Sacramentum Caritatis”, in which he recommends the Latin language to priests: For international gatherings, which are being held more frequently today, the unity and universality of the church may be clearly expressed, if the liturgy is celebrated in Latin, except for the readings, homily and prayers of the faithful.

But well-known prayers may be recited in Latin and Gregorian chant sung.

The Pope urged that future priests be prepared to celebrate the mass in Latin, to make use of Latin texts, and to sing Gregorian chant; the faithful can be taught to recite common prayers in Latin and to sing their customary parts of the liturgy in Gregorian chant.
Dies Annuntiationis
30.03.2007, klo 15.20

Day of the Annunciation

The birthday of the European Union coincides with the day of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which is celebrated by the Christian church nine months before the Nativity of the Lord.

The name day of the Annunciation comes from what the evangelist Luke related: The Angel Gabriel had come to Mary saying the words: “Hail, full of grace” announcing to her that she would bear a son, Jesus.
