I am interested in subscribing to a Catholic newspaper with a liberal slant. Any recommendations?

Catholics are not described as liberal or conservative. Those terms refer to politics. Orthodox or unorthodox is a better reference. I can’t think of a reason a practicing Catholic would want to read any paper that is unorthodox.
Catholics can of course be interested in liberal or conservative political views, but be careful of “liberal” politically leaning Catholic newspapers…they tend to bend Catholic doctrine. Watch for dissident columnists.
The National Catholic Register is orthodox and covers the current words of the Holy Father in each addition.

Most of us at CAF won’t allow you to read a liberal newspaper. You’re only allowed to read orthodox Catholic newspapers. Sorry.

If by liberal you mean "Unorthodox, I’m very confused as to why you would want a newspaper that bends Catholic doctrine.

Well I don’t know where if falls politically, but I subscribe to “Our Sunday Visitor,” which is a national publication.

From what I’ve seen of this newspaper, it’s orthodox but not as rigidly conservative as some newspapers/magazines can seem. What you might want to do is to pick-up a National Catholic Register (many Catholic bookstores sell them individually) and look online at some of the back copies of OSV - to compare them.🤷

What about magazines? As far as politically liberal (or focused heavily on social justice), the magazines America, U.S. Catholic, and Commonweal are pretty good publications. The first two are occasionally heterodoxical, so be wary. The last one is heretical a good portion of the time, so be very wary.

A Catholic newspaper that casts itself as liberal is quite likely to mislead rather than to provide authentic Catholic information. Why not just seek out a liberal news or political site and leave the “Catholic” part to something like the National Catholic Register?

Pretty sure that was a joke, sir or ma’m? sorry I’m not sure about that :o It was just a joke…😉
I’ve been reading and posting here a while, and I’m not so sure it was a joke.

Liberal opinions are anathema around here.

My parents encouraged me to NOT just read things that confirmed my already established positions. It’s why I keep coming here, that and the pure humor angle.
Then you should have both objectives fulfilled.

I think the original poster of this posting is just making a joke, and is poking fun at the other people on this thread. So it is not something to take offense at.
We’re your self-appointed online parents 😛

And everyone here knows they have instrinsically defective senses of humor.
