Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa –I am sorry that my post was so poorly worded that you could not vote. This poll is very poorly worded. I couldn’t vote in it.
The option:
is followed by:
Should I answer that if I’m not divorced, but I believe that a divorced person must obtain an annulment before dating?
If that said “really present” I’d have no problem answering. But Jesus is present in the Eucharist in a different (sacramental) way than He was present when He washed the feet of the Apostles. Is that what it means by “physically”?
This is true, but that’s not all it is. It’s both a symbol and an actual participation in the Body of Christ.
Since those questions were poorly worded, I couldn’t answer this poll.
Jeremy
My attempt was to ask common questions that reveal Catholic teachings, not individual or personal status of life for those voting.
My wife and I are divorce Catholic’s; I can date others without an annulment: Can Catholic’s who are divorce date without an annulment? A yes vote would indicate an annulment is not necessary.
I must obtain an annulment before I start dating because we are still married in the eyes of the Catholic Church? A vote for this would be in agreement with the statement that Catholic’s require an annulment before dating.
Jesus is physically present in the Eucharist: Unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood…As far as I am concern, he is physically present as you indicated, IMHO, not a symbol or symbolic act. I actually eat the flesh and blood of Christ and to do that, he must be there in ways we do not understand or words do not portray.
The Eucharist is a symbolic communion of Christ body and blood for Catholic unity and salvation: Most non-Catholic perceive communion as a symbol of the Body and Blood of Christ; contradictory to the question above. I heard a report on EWTN that 35 percent of Catholic’s that attend Church believe this.
I did not intend to establish a thread devoted on discussion of Church teaching. Just what the individual voting perceptions are, based on the questions, as written.
Again, I apologize that the poll was not scholarly enough, due to my most inappropriate wording, to allow you to participate. I do thank you for bringing this to my attention. God Bless
