Prayer of St. Gertrude the Great

Eternal Father, I offer thee the most precious blood of thy divine son,Jesus, in union with all the masses said throughout the world today; for all the Holy souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen.
One of my personal favorites. :gopray2:

Benedicamus Domino

For the promises of Spring
For the Heron on the wing
For the song the blackbirds sing
Gracious Lord we thank Thee!

For the Summer roses red
For the fragrance that they shed
For the cloudless skies o’erhead
Gracious Lord we thank Thee!

For the Autumn’s purple haze
For the beauty of her ways
For the fruitful harvest days
Gracious Lord we thank Thee!

For the Winter, white and drear
For the woodlands gaunt and sere
For the passing of the year
Gracious Lord we thank Thee!

For the truth that makes men free
For the love that leads to Thee
For the life that is to be
Gracious Lord we thank Thee!

God Bless you and much peace and love to you

Teresa

Hail dear Spouse of Mary mild, Tender Guardian of her Child, Joseph best of teachers hail!

For prayer and contemplation…

Blessed are the poor in spirit; the kingdom of heaven is theirs. Blessed are the patient; they shall inherit the land. Blessed are those who mourn; they shall be comforted. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for holiness, they shall have their fill. Blessed are the merciful; they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the clean of heart; they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers; they shall be counted the chidlren of God. Blessed are those who suffer persecution in the cause of right; the kingdom of heaven is theirs. Blessed are you, when men revile, and persecute you and speak all manner of evil against you falsely because of me. Be glad and light-hearted for a rich reward awaits you in heaven.

I hope I’m not off topic here but can we include songs in our prayer time too? There are some songs that I sing as prayer while I work around the house or am driving my kids around. (I try to always pray through the things I do. I say I try)
One song that I sing for this purpose is John Bell’s song “Take Oh Take Me.” The words are;

Take, oh take me as I am.
Summon out what I shall be
Set your seal upon my heart
And live in Me.

Another one is by Danielle Rose called “Give and Take”:

If you had to take away my voice and I could no longer sing
If I no longer had the words to say anything
and if you had to away all music from my ears
and I could no longer hear the sounds of the earth
If this what you had to do so that I could be close to you
I would praise you for the silence
I give everything up cause for I want nothing to stand between our love

And if you had to take away my sight
and I no longer could see the beauty of the sunrise
Nor the eyes of a child nor the brightness of the night
nor the color of the sky in the morning light
If this is what you had to do so that I could be close to you
I would praise you for the darkness
I give everything up for I want nothing to stand between our love

And if you had to take away my name and I no longer knew who I was or how I changed
If you took away my breath or the beating of my heart
If you took away my destiny if you took my world apart
If this is what you had to do so that I could be close to you
I would praise you for the brokeness
I give everything up for I want nothing to stand between our love

But you Jesus you take me as I am, I have nothing to give
Yet you kiss my empty hands, You took it all opon yourself
Taking nothing from me, You gave up Your life
That what it took to set me free, free
And this is what you chose to do so that I could be close to you
and I praise you for your love You gave everything up
so that nothing could stand, no nothing, not even death could stand between our love.

Then the last one I sing all the time is “Open My Eyes” byJesse Manibusan:
Open my eyes, Lord, help me to see Your face
Open my eyes, Lord, help me to see
Open my ears, Lord, help me to hear Your voice
Open my ears, Lord, help me to hear.
Open my heart, Lord, help me to love like You
Open my heart, Lord, help me to love.

Prayer to Your Guardian Angel

Feast Day: October 2

Angel of God, my Guardian dear,
To whom God’s love commits me here,
Ever this day be at my side
To light and guard, to rule and guide.

Amen.

I especially like the Prayer for Preparation and Prayer of Thanksgiving printed at the back of my DSP breviary:

PREPARATION FOR MASS
Prayer of St. Thomas Aquinas

Almighty and ever-living God,
I approach the sacrament of your only-begotten Son, our Lird Jesus Christ.
I come sick to the doctor of life,
unclean to the fountain of mercy,
blind to the radiance of eternal light,
and poor and needy to the Lord of heaven and earth.
Lord, in your great generosity
heal my sickness, wash away my defilement
enlighten my blindness, enrich my poverty,
and clothe my nakedness.
May I receive the bread of angels,
the King of kings and Lord of lords,
with humble reverence,
with the purity and faith,
the repentance and love, and the determined purpose
that will help to bring me to salvation.
May I receive the sacrament of the Lord’s body and blood,
and its reality and power.
Kind God, may I receive the body of your only-begotted Son,
our Lord Jesus Christ,
born from the womb of the Virgin Mary,
and so be received into his mystical body,
and numbered among his members.
Loving Father,
as on my earthly pilgrimage,
I now receive your beloved Son,
under the veil of a Sacrament,
may I one day see him face to face in glory,
who lives and reigns with you forever. Amen

THANKSGIVING AFTER MASS
Prayer of St. Thomas Aquinas

Lord, Father all-powerful, and ever-living God,
I thank you,
for even though I am a sinner, your unprofitable servant,
not because of my worth, but in the kindness of your mercy,
you have fed me
with the precious body and blood of your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
I pray that this holy communion
may not bring me condemnation and punishment
but forgiveness and salvation.
May it be a helmet of faith
and a shield of good will.
May it purity me from evil ways
and put and end to my evil passions.
May it bring me charity and patience,
humility and obedience
and growth in the power to do good.
May it be my strong defense
against all my enemies, visible and invisible,
and the perfect calming of all my evil impulses,
bodily and spiritual.
May it unite my more closely to you,
the one true God,
and lead me safely through death
to everlasting happiness with you.
And I pray that you will lead me, a sinner,
to the banquet where you,
with your Son and the Holy Spirit,
are true and perfect light,
total fulfillment, everlasting joy,
gladness without end,
and perfect happiness to your saint.
Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Jesus, I trust you
Jesus, I love you
Jesus, I trust you
Jesus I love you
Jesus I trust you
Jesus I love you

As Blessed Mother Teresa was dying this (above) is what she said… I just read this the other day… how wonderful!

And how awesome it is to be Catholic and have such a vast treasury of prayers to turn to…

Hi all, here is a powerful prayer taken from
home.att.net/~eucharistic/

Remember, this is a deliverance prayer in the context of deliverance and healing in areas of affliction and spiritual warfare (normally by a healing ministry). Real exorcism is only to be carried out by an authorised bishop or a permission granted to a priest.
(Seek GOD’s guidance and wisdom)

(sorry, the prayer is too long. Please go to the link above).

Powerful prayer indeed.

I have a Pieta Prayer Book. There small little books filled with prayers. 15 Prayers to St. Brigitte—Prayer to St. Joseph—Prayers for Holy Souls in Purgatory and what is so great about this little book is that is also has some great promises to those who devoutely say these prayers. Every Catholic should have one!!!

God Bless All

Totus Tuus

This prayer was written by the Holy Father to
Mary Immaculate

Totally yours,
Immaculate Conception, Mary my Mother,
Live in me, Act in me,
Speak in me and through me,
Think your thoughts in my mind,
Love through my heart,
Give me your dispositions and feelings,
Teach, lead me and guide me to Jesus,
Correct, enlighten and expand my thoughts and behavior,
Possess my soul,
Take over my entire personality and life, replace it with Yourself,
Incline me to constant adoration,
Pray in me and through me,
Let me live in you and keep me in this union always.

I hmaintain a growing library of prayers for devotional chaplets:

Prayers written by St. Teresa of Avila

Christ has no body now but yours

No hands, no feet on earth but yours
Yours are the eyes through which He looks
compassion on this world
Christ has no body now on earth but yours.

Let nothing disturb you,
Let nothing frighten you,
All things pass away:
God never changes.
Patience obtains all things.
He who has God
Finds he lacks nothing;
God alone suffices.

Lord, grant that I may always allow myself to be guided by You,
always follow Your plans,
and perfectly accomplish Your Holy Will.
Grant that in all things,
great and small, today and all the days of my life,
I may do whatever You require of me.
Help me respond to the slightest prompting of Your Grace,
so that I may be Your trustworthy instrument for Your honor.
May Your Will be done in time and in eternity – by me, in me, and through me. Amen.

An Irish Blessing

May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
May the rains fall softly upon your fields
And until we meet again
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

God bless you and much love and peace to you

Teresa

‘Lord I believe, help my unbelief’

God Bless you and much love and peace to you

Teresa

This is a prayer that I carry with me:

Lord Jesus Christ
I am sorry for my sins
I turn away from my sins, and I ask you to forgive me
Come into my heart, take control of my life
Be my Lord, my God and my Savior
Fill me with your Holy Spirit, that I might serve you all the days of my life
I love you Lord Jesus and I give you my life forever.
