Let us agree to disagree on this dress thing.
I want everyone to attend Mass on each and every day of the week.
But I believe that dressing up for God is a good thing.
I have never suggested in any post here that someone should come dressed in a tuxedo or an evening gown for Church or to stay home.
The priest, the deacons, the alter servers, the readers, all of the other Mass ministers, the choir, and most everyone else in Church is dressed nicely. Mass is a special occasion. 🙏🙏🙏

I was attempting to describe an over the top “going for a late night drink with the girls” sorta look

And we don’t know what those women look like, so why speculate?
 
That doesn’t look Marian-esque to me. The reason I singled out your avatar is that I found it to be completely incongruent with advocating for modesty. It also shows that ideas on modesty can be different

Well I’ve fixed it now. Looking closer at it, it did look inappropriate.

I’m a little late to this party, but I’m well aware of what happened. I’m shocked by all the backlash. I wonder how this went so viral?

Seeing all the feminists go nuts against purity is saddening, but not unexpected. Maybe they should ask men for their opinion about how it affects men before they simply say that how they dress doesn’t matter. Who am I kidding? Like that will ever happen. :roll_eyes:

On the other hand, I do think that the tweet was a bit much. Shoulders? I mean… come on. Are we going to start talking about ankles and collarbones too? Maybe I’m a bit desensitized, because I saw much worse at my college parish back in the day. But still, shoulders doesn’t seem to me like the hill to die on, you know?
