As of right now, we do not have Catholic Radio in Cleveland, Ohio.
But I heard that Catholic Radio will be a reality.

Yet, I like the sound quality of the Internet over AM Radio anyday!

Catholic radio is a great help to me in my church ministries. I especially enjoy “Catholic Answers.” I try to listen as much as I can. Sometimes, I find myself making notes. I pray that it will expand to many more locations. The more we learn as Catholics, the more we find out just how little we know.

We listen to Catholic Radio in the Chicago metro area at work and also National Public Radio, it is a nice balance. I have not heard CR say anything positive about Democratic candidates and nothing negative about Republicans. NPR balances that off nicely.

Mitch Pacwa (sp) is my favorite apologist.

A coworker listens to Howard Stern and Steve Dahl, so I hear the whole gamit.

I listen to Catholic Radio frequently and I never hear them speak either positively or negatively towards any political party. They do, however, speak negatively against abortion which is the cornerstone of the Democratic platform. That must be what you’re hearing. Sue

I can sort of get Relevant Radio out of Chicago. It’s AM 820. www.relevantradio.com. It’s great! We also get EWTN on Sirius (the reason we bought satellite radio). It is Channel 160. I stream relevantradio.com when I’m at home. My dh and I both love it.

Here in Minnesota I am fortunate to have Relevant Radio. When the radio is on (which is a lot, both at home and in the car) it’s usually tuned in to that channel. I credit the Catholic Answers program with being very instrumental in bringing me back to the faith—I have learned so-o-o-o much from that program, things I should have learned as a cradle Catholic but did not.

I listen to Relevant Radio, Catholic Answers, and The Dr. is in on 820 AM in Chicago. Unlike a previous poster, I only hear topics discussed or guests interviewed. They don’t endorse any candidate. However, abortion is a big topic, and let’s face it, the Democrats are not pro life.

They also discuss facts, and not in a partisan way. It is really very refreshing. One day on Relevant Radio, the Rome to Home correspondent gave us a completely different version of Bush’s visit to the Pope. It was not negative at all. In the secualr media all I heard was negavite- how Bush was scolded by the Pope. They played up the differences that the Vatican had with the war. It was so much more honest to hear a Catholic reporter in Rome on a Catholic radio program discussing what happened at the visit. She had no reason to lie to us, because she is honest.

Imagine if we always got an honest report from our media, without the spin they chose for us.

I hardly ever listen to anything other than the Catholic station now. I feel like I have learned so much about my faith **and **what is happening in the world. I also can feel more positive overall when I stay away from other media.

I credit our Catholic radio station in Portland, OR for keeping me in the faith when I seriously considered leaving the Church. KBVM has awesome local programming and also offers a lot from EWTN radio plus Catholic Answers every weekday. This radio station, through the grace of God, comforted me, encouraged me and taught me during a terrible illness in which I was bedridden for weeks. If not for that voice of Truth, I shudder to think what condition I might be in today, both physically and spiritually! God bless all the Catholic Media!

I am happy that we get Relevant Radio on 1330 AM here in the Twin Cities. It moved up to a station with a stronger signal a month or so ago - before that we had to listen to one station in the east metro and a different one in the west metro (my only complaint is that it knocked the 24 hour news channel down to the two smaller stations!).

I listen in the car. I find that the percentage of car time spent on that station keeps going up and up. They do the rosary 9-9:30pm each night, which I like.

I saw Fr. Pacwa give a talk on Islam at my church a few months ago - he was fantastic.

And I have to agree about Fr. Corapi! I would list him as my favorite person on Catholic radio. I could listen to him speak all day! Thanks for the link - I’ll be checking that out. :d

I’m very fortunate to be able to get WDEO from Ann Arbor even though I live about 150 miles north.

I have the radio on almost all day. Once in awhile when I get tired of the talking and want to listen to music, I tune in the Protestant music station.

80% Shortwave and 20% Internet.
Also, I turn on the shortwave at night so if I wake up I can listen then. Then when I wake up in the morning, I hear Morning Prayer, and the hour of prayer before the EWTN Mass with the “Perpetual Help” rosary, Angelus, etc. etc… Great way to start the day!
The first time I heard Morning Prayer on the radio I was hooked. They do a great job.

Unfortunately, we can’t get any Catholic radio stations in the car here. Sometimes I make tapes. On the car radio I often listen to Charles Stanley (In Touch) and some other Protestant programs, while paying close attention for “un-Catholic” teaching. Charles Stanley is one of the better ones, except that he wanders into sola fide once in a great while.

You get it that far away??? I live only 50 miles to the east of Ann Arbor and on the days I can get it I usually have to listen through static. Every once in a while it will come in clear but usually I just get angry and switch stations.

Sue,

You may be correct, how about we both listen more carefully. I do not believe either Parties or candidates are 100% evil. I also understand abortion is the numero uno issue. I know I have heard positive things about Bush, nothing negative.

May I ask a stupid question here. Where is the spell check! I need it.

Happy Listening,

Nod

I listen to Relevant Radio mostly in my car. I put it on when I go to work. Because I go between schools and back to my office, I also get to hear it then. I will turn it on again when I get home. Grandma

Nod, It’s FATHER Mitch Pacwa. There is another thread where this sort of thing is the subject of major discussion. I don’t invite that, but strongly urge everyone to call a father a father.

Anna 👍

I listen to catholic radio on sirus radio on my way to work, on the internet at work and to cable tv at home or internet at home.
I have it on most of the day. Your poll doesn’t cover all of the options.
