Recently Bill Oreilly had a story about the Catholic Church’s support of illegal aliens. His guest was a representative of the Church who wanted the United States to invest in the infrastructure of Mexico so that aliens would not be motivated to come to our country. The U.S. is already the most generous country in the world. We send aid workers and millions of dollars throughout the world. We have given military assistance to most of the free world. In fact, most of the free world is free due to the generosity and might of the United States.
The Mexican government protects its southern border with its military from even poorer people attempting to enter Mexico. When the U.S. even attempts to protest Mexico’s apathetic attitude about illegal aliens in the U.S. President Fox says we are racist.
Mr. Oreilly correctly pointed out that are many priests involved in assisting illegal aliens to enter the U.S. A country is defined, literally, by its borders. We are a nation of laws. Why doesn’t’ the Catholic Church denounce the illegal stampede of illegal aliens to this country? We have no idea of who is getting into our country and our very security is at risk. Why is it that some bishops seem to automatically default to the liberal mindset that America is wrong or not doing enough? Where are their critical thinking skills?
