What if Romney wins tonite in Illinois ? Is it all over for Santorum ?
They projected the results: Mitt Romney will win Illinois.
And they said he won among Catholics. That’s just disgusting to me. I’m disgusted. And I’ll stick to words I’ve said in the past: if nominated a Republican nominee, I won’t vote for him. In fact I’ll probably verbally assault him the whole time and encourage people to protest vote against him.
Let me clarify: I’m disgusted because BOTH parties in this country are going to nominate candidates who have attacked the Catholic Church and legally forced them to provide contraception and abortifacients.

Mitt Romney:
“In my personal view, it’s the right thing for hospitals to provide information and access to emergency contraception to anyone who is a victim of rape.”
This quote is from after he vetoed the contraception bill. Dec. 8th 2005, and he’s talking about Catholic hospitals here.
Boston Globe:
“Governor Mitt Romney reversed course on the state’s new emergency contraception law yesterday, saying that all hospitals in the state will be obligated to provide the morning-after pill to rape victims. The decision overturns a ruling made public this week by the state Department of Public Health that privately run hospitals could opt out of the requirement if they objected on moral or religious grounds.”
Mitt Romney disagreed with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health which
said “No, Catholic hospitals can still opt-out”.
So… people can point to Mitt Romney’s veto as the be all end all in this. But, it was nothing but a smoke screen. Mitt Romney already knew his veto was going to be overridden.** So, the real question is this: If Mitt Romney truly cared about religious liberty and the pro-life movement why didn’t he keep fighting?**
This is 6 months after his veto… when the law was actually going to take effect. And, the Bill passed by the legislature did not force Catholic Churches to provide anything. Not until the Governor, Mitt Romney decided that they did.
Obamacare didn’t originally force mandated contraception. [We didn’t know what it did; the only way to find out what it did, was to pass it- circa Nancy Pilosi]. But, then Kathleen Sibelius redefined the law as in fact mandated contraception that’s when the issue started.
