The issue involves an “I stand with Planned Parenthood” sticker that Kate Murray, a sophomore at the Sacred Heart Greenwich school, placed on her laptop…

“It is a small sticker. It is not incendiary, it is not vulgar. It is not hurtful,” Tracy Murray told the Greenwich Time. “It is a statement of my daughter’s belief and she deserves the same respect for her beliefs that the administration and part of the faculty are demanding for theirs.”…

President of Planned Parenthood Federation of America Cecile Richards tweeted out her support to Kate Thursday.

“Kate, Planned Parenthood is so proud to count you as a supporter,” she wrote. “Keep fighting for what you believe in. #IstandwithKateMurray.”

As of 4 p.m. Thursday, more than 1,500 people signed an online petition called “I Stand With Kate Murray.” The petition states, “Unless Kate is allowed her freedom of speech, all of my future donations that would have been allocated to Sacred Heart Greenwich will now and forever be donated to Planned Parenthood.”

Not all beliefs are worthy of respect. They should expel her if she refuses to remove it.

Their school, their rules. Doesn’t matter where you go. You’ll have to conform to somebody’s standards :man_shrugging:t2:

My response, “We answer to a higher power and it’s not your wallet “.

I’ve got a sticker that says “Zombie Outbreak Response Team…” so far, so good!

Maybe the school should get a pile of “Marriage before the carriage” stickers to hand out…

If I was going to a private Protestant school and I got kicked out because I had a sticker that said, “Protestantism is stupid” I could get kicked out. Freedom of speech generally only applies to the government. Anyone can kick someone off their private property for saying literally anything. Private schools are private property. Thus…

It just seems weird to me that any parent of a Catholic school child would even consider supporting Planned Parenthood.
