A gay priest sex scandal has rocked the Catholic Church in Italy today after a weekly news magazine released details of a shock investigation it had carried out.
Using hidden cameras, a journalist from Panorama magazine - owned by Italian Prime Minister and media baron Silvio Berlusconi - filmed three priests as they attended ga

There is a thread about this in the apologetics section also.

It is obvious this article is biased, not to mention somewhat suspect.

If they followed these priests, and did this investigation, don’t you think they would have exposed who they were?

I don’t really believe it.

I don’t really trust the daily mail either, they appear more of a tabloid, than legitimate media.

They supposedly have video to back up the story. I have no reason not to believe them at this point. After all of the sex scandals that have rocked the church over the last couple of years nothing surprises me anymore.

The catholic laity better wake up to the sin that has infiltrated the church and runs rampid through the hirarchy. Some people act as though admitting there is a problem is being a “bad catholic”. That’s ridiculous. How can we ever change things if we can’t even bring ourselves to admit there’s a problem.

We have to stop blaming the media or the secular world for the trouble we now find ourselves in. This current crisis comes from within as have most all of the heresies and scandals which have plagued us in the past. We need to open our eyes, tell it like it is, and deal with it.

So here’s the part of the article that got my attention.

“The article describes how the reporter was assisted by a gay ‘accomplice’ as they ‘gate-crashed the wild nights of a number of priests in Rome who live a surprising double-life’.”

And a couple of paragraphs down:

“In one part of the investigation Panorama said that one priest, named as Carlo, willingly put on his cassock to have sex with the reporter’s gay accomplice, adding ‘all of which was filmed by the hidden camera’.”

That’s just some amazing journalism right there. Okay, these are bad priests living double lives. But for the reporter to bring along an accomlice who apparently seduced the priest and had sex with him while they secretly filmed it? That’s what they call journalism??? That’s beyond trashy.

Until someone shows the videos and identifies the priests its just a reporter telling a story.

Innocent until proven guilty is why this story should not be believed otherwise you just make yourself a sucker for any story written in a newspaper.

Seems like the Catholic Clergy is filled with sodomites and child molesters. The Vatican needs to do a major crack down on the priesthood.

I am so baffled. That we have a serious problem is very evidentl These continued stories, whether completely true or not have a subtle, more destructive element to them. With the recent reports of certain of the hierarchy being more sympathetic towards homosexuality, will poorly-catechized Catholics be able to discern and defend true church teaching? Or are all of us becoming “de-sensitized” over this issue.

I’m not saying this isn’t true…but it’s a little too fishy.

One, someone could easily dress up as a priest and act as one, giving off homosexual acts.
Two, this article refers to the Roman collar as a “dog collar.” I stopped reading there. Obviously, this writer has a biased agenda to write.

Too bad we don’t have the death penalty for this **** anymore. That would fix it up right quick.

Legitimate vocations would arise like a vast flood if this kind of thing were rooted out of the clergy once and for all!

Agreed. Thread closed until further information develops.
