What is happening is that the gay agenda is forcing an impasse, and ultimately they will either make it impossible for faithful people to practice their faith and obey their conscience…or…the gays will lose everything they have been fighting for. It is an us or them situation, and that is exactly what they have been pushing for. Because of abortion and radical sodomy, there will be no place for a Christian to go but to arms. Someone on this thread linked to Fr. Hardon’s archives, and it was Fr. Hardon S.J. afterall who said over 30 years ago that these two issues were going to lead to civil war.

War is an awful, awful thing, innocents maimed and killed. Unfortunately, our separated Protestant brethern have been leaving most of the legal and spiritual battles to the Catholics, and the Catholics have fallen far short of fighting a good fight. We cannot violate our consciences, so if things don’t turn around, we could be seeing some very unfortunate events unfold.

Let us pray for real and lasting peace.
I disagree with this.

We need to help convert the pagan world we live in.

This is a difficult issue, since each Diocese seems to be as Faithful as its Bishop (Bishops change over time).

The Diocese of Venice in FL is good.
Look at Ave Maria FL which is in the Venice Diocese.
avemaria.com/
Mass is offered in both English and Latin.

If you prefer the Latin Mass, these are good locations in the Venice Diocese.

No matter where you live, keep praying for your family and friends. God will do his job. 👍
I will likely stay right where I am. A wise person once told me that a person should stay where they are until/unless God transplants them into a different place. That reminded me of the account of Abraham in the Bible when God called him from his home (along with other accounts). Chances are, if God does not call a person out of their situation, then He wants that person stay put! 🙂

👍 YEP! I feel a little more comfortable with someone else with me in the fox holes of Illinois.😃 We need all the faithful people we can get Bro!! But seriously, yes, I do believe that God has planted certain people where they are for a reason, this I believe to be very true.

why didnt they save face by dissolving the agency and returning all the money to the diocese?

Are you willing to go to war to preserve your right to worship God and practice your faith as you believe? Because that’s what this will basically come down to. In 1861, the North and South didn’t go to war over slavery. For the South, the issue was whether they could govern their own affairs; for the North, the issue was a reaction to the rebellion, to preserve the Union.

This time, if it comes to that, the Right and the Left won’t be going to war over abortion or homosexual “marriage”, as you seem to think. For the Left, the issue will be whether they can transform the country into something resembling a combination of the Mustang Ranch and a Burning Man festival crossed with Mardi Gras; for the Right, it will be to preserve the right to manage their own religious, legal, political, entrepenurial, and moral affairs without meddling from the Left.

And as with all civil wars, this one will be to the complete destruction of one side or the other; the two will not be able to coexist. We have been in the first stages of this for fifteen years or better now: you can have freedom of speech, or you can have political correctness. The two cannot exist side-by-side; eventually, one of them will have to go.
It’s clear now that freedom cannot coexist with the gay agenda. For example, schools have put really offensive mandatory stuff into their sex education curricula, in such places as New York city and California. Parents have already been arrested when they wanted to opt out their kids from this abomination of homosexual indoctrination. If this goes to the point of civil unrest and possibly civil war, I could see how parents would put their lives on the line for the sake of their children. The conflict between freedom and the gay agenda is becoming more and more personal, with people being sued, losing their jobs, and having their children coerced into homosexual indoctrination curricula. The attack on our children might be the most explosive one of all. That’s certainly one offense that most parents will not tolerate, no matter what price they will be forced to pay for protecting their children.

I agree. 🙂

I think we need to go back and build our lives around the Church of God in small towns away from the insanity of the pagans.
That would mean ignoring the command of Jesus, that we
go forth to the whole world and preach the Good News to
all nations. Instead, we should gather in Small-Town-America?

Ahhhhh, NO.

The unfortunate reality is that until we fix the root social cause of unwanted pregnancy they will continue to be rampant. If we want to keep them from ending in abortion then adoption must be a viable option. Again an unfortunate reality is that there simply aren’t enough straight couples to meet the supply of unwanted babies out there. Since so many gay couples want children, there are now more than enough couples out there. It’s not ideal but it’s much better than no home at all. After all, is there such thing as perfect parents?

It’s easy to judge from afar but the charity in Illinois who’s in the trenches doing this noble work (God bless them) came to realize that they would better accomplish the goal of finding loving homes for unwanted children if they were not limited to straight couples.

The way things have gone, the rights of gays will come to pass since opponents time again fails to prove that their lifestyle violates the freedoms of others. They can’t even show that children of gays are more likely to be gay themselves or be worse off in any other way. The supreme court could take it up next year which means equal rights for gays would be a nationwide reality. This is true no matter whom you vote for (for most of you, that will be a Mormon). You don’t have to love it but you do have to learn to coexist with it. It’s the way God created the world and it certainly challenges us.

Cheers
What can you possibly mean?
I’ve heard of no “shortage” of heterosexual couples.
However, because of abortion, there’s been a shortage of
adopt-able babies for more than thirty years.

Here are recent statistics from the Department of Health and Human Services
acf.hhs.gov/programs/cb/stats_research/afcars/tar/report18.htm

It shows that 107,000 entered foster care in 2010 and of those 53,000 were adopted so more than 50% are still looking for loving homes. It doesn’t show how many of the 53,000 were adopted by gay couples but another source I saw shows that 19% of gay couples have adopted a child. I imaging that’s much higher than straight couples but again couldn’t find it. There were also several sites which indicate that psychological studies consistently show that children of gay couples turn out just as well as other children.

Depends what you mean by just as well. By having children raised by homosexual couples, the children will assume that it is ok for homosexuals to have “relationships”, and therefore they will believe that sinning (i.e acting out on homosexual tendencies) will be ok.

Not only that (which is enough), but they will also think the Bible cannot be trusted and neither can any traditional Christian Church.

Oh. So your imagination is guiding you.
I’m guided by my work of forty+ yrs in social services.

“Imagining” that growing up in a home where “parents” are
of the same sex will lead to “well adjusted” children is a LEAP.

So true, gentlemen!
Thanks for saying so.

This is exactly right. This is nothing more than a “social experiment” with the next generation of children. I cannot imagine a child being raised in a same sex coupled home that would be anything other than completely warped. (to put it bluntly)
As it stands now there are not enough of these children that are already grown adults to gage any results. It’s all speculation on the part of so called “authorities.”
