This is so sad, and I pray for my cousins in Santander. I am only glad that my Abuelita and Abuelito have not lived to see this day in their homeland.😦
 
So many of our ancestors died for the faith in Spain thoughout all history (against Muslims, Romans and Communists) and this is how they are repaid :mad:
 
The bulk of the article in the first post is a translation from a news story which appeared in the Spanish-language newspaper El Pais. It cites a sociologist who says that the decline in the percentage of persons who identify as Catholic is the culmination of a trend which has been ongoing since the 1970s, when attendance at Mass began falling. Presently, about 60% of Spaniards never set foot inside a church except for social occasions such as weddings, funerals, and baptisms. 13% attend Mass weekly, but that is down from 19% only ten years ago.

About 2/3 of children are baptized and approximately 60% of children eventually receive first communion.
 
And in countries like Russia, where Russian Orthodox Christians encourage and love “tradition”. The churches are growing, and the faithful actually believe in God, not just a spirit or force, like in the West. But the post conciliar crowd, will never give in to this truth, because of their quest for power and purist equality. Where a man can be a woman, and a woman can be a man, in all things religious. Because of their distorted view of the teachings of the Church and the Gospel.
