How would you deal with the following:

“And Jesus said unto him verily I say unto thee today shalt thou be with me in paradise” Luke 23:43

My personal belief is that Jesus is saying that the thief would be in Paradise (aka “Abraham’s Bosom”), which is distinct from Heaven (i.e., in the presence of God), that day. See 1Pe 3:18-20.

It describes an icon and a depiction of the good thief on abraham’s bosom…as it was understood then and how it is understood now…and why that passage has a comma where it is in the Catholic bibles.

you are punctuating as follows:-

So, we are talking here, about “Limbus Patrum” as distinct from both Purgatory and Heaven - correct?

So, very much open to “private interpretation” then? In that case which translation does modern biblical scholarship accept as being the true, or does that also vary from Bible book to Bible book, and verse to verse?
