One of the fast-rising stars of the Catholic new media world is coming to Kitchener Ontario to stir up young people to use new technology to “aggressively combat the secularist and atheistic media.” Michael Voris is best known for his straight-talking daily Internet-only TV broadcast, The Vortex, a five minute monologue where Voris serves up Catholic teaching on life, family, faith and culture with no compromise.

“The teachings of the Church are not politically correct,” Voris says, “but unfortunately the presentation of them has become that.”

“You-tube sensation”? I’m beginning to think that Andy Warhol’s famous comment about modern celebrity was accurate.

YouTube sensation? His videos average about 10,000 views and his high water mark is about 40,000. Yet I just saw another video on YouTube posted yesterday that already has 400,000 views. So how exactly is he a YouTube sensation?

Lifesitenews, once again, hyping for their own purposes…

I wouldn’t really recommend working against it. His views may average about 10,000, but the fervour of the comments on his videos are in a league of their own.

In general, I’d also like to say, yesterday I subscribed to a premium membership of RealCatholicTV.com. Best $10-per-month subscription I will ever spend.

No one should put down Michael Voris. I’m becoming a better Catholic because of his evangelization.

Your responses are never surprising, though always troubling.
You are not a fan of Lifesitenews or Realcatholic TV but are for homosexual clergy, giving communion to pro-aborts etc. You always seem to be on the wrong side of things.

Maybe he is finally seeing the light. We must pray more for him.

Which is glaringly ad hominem. Why not discuss the celebrity (or lack thereof) of this internet video person? You know, the thread topic?

Did you consider how many views there are directly from their website?

Maybe they shouldn’t have said “YouTube”, but Voris tells it like it is.
