If a women is on the pill for a year and has marital relations, breakthrough ovulationnl can occur 3 to 4 times a year, meaning 3 to 4 of their own children die per year due to chemical contraception. The good circumstances does not outweight the bad.

Is your assertion that 100% of eggs that are released are then fertilized? Even if ovulation occurs secondary hormonal effects significantly reduce the chance of fertilization. I’ve yet to see any study showing a correlation between bc pills and implantation issues. It’s worth noting that even when things are working as intended around half of fertilized eggs don’t implant so if that’s the line you’re drawing there seem to be larger concerns.

If it applies, here is some wit and wisdom from Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen, whose cause for canonization is well underway.
"If I were not a Catholic, and were looking for the true Church in the world today, I would look for the one Church which did not get along well with the world; in other words, I would look for the Church which the world hated. My reason for doing this would be, that if Christ is in any one of the churches of the world today, He must still be hated as He was when He was on earth in the flesh. If you would find Christ today, then find the Church that does not get along with the world. Look for the Church that is hated by the world as Christ was hated by the world. Look for the Church that is accused of being behind the times, as our Lord was accused of being ignorant and never having learned. Look for the Church which men sneer at as socially inferior, as they sneered at Our Lord because He came from Nazareth. Look for the Church which is accused of having a devil, as Our Lord was accused of being possessed by Beelzebub, the Prince of Devils. Look for the Church which, in seasons of bigotry, men say must be destroyed in the name of God as men crucified Christ and thought they had done a service to God. Look for the Church which the world rejects because it claims it is infallible, as Pilate rejected Christ because He called Himself the Truth. Look for the Church which is rejected by the world as Our Lord was rejected by men. Look for the Church which amid the confusions of conflicting opinions, its members love as they love Christ, and respect its Voice as the very voice of its Founder, and the suspicion will grow, that if the Church is unpopular with the spirit of the world, then it is unworldly, and if it is unworldly it is other worldly. since it is other-worldly, it is infinitely loved and infinitely hated as was Christ Himself. But only that which is Divine can be infinitely hated and infinitely loved. Therefore the Church is Divine."

using birth control pills is allowed, but not when sexually active with spouse since a prenatal can be killed through abortifacient contraception
Do you have a modern authoritative medical source for this claim, i.e. that birth control pills as prescribed can lead to the expulsion of a zygote?

Doesn’t the world dislike other denominations?

The world dislikes the truth in its proportion. Many non-Catholics (who have a portion of the truth) openly hate the Catholic Church.

when I reviewed the resources a decade or two ago, I reduced it to this shot summary:

A) The original “pill”, no longer available, what a high dose that stomped out ovulation ad the entire female cycle, hard. It also had bad long term side effects (cancer, iirc).

B) The modern pill is a triple function, using lower dosage, and leaves the cycle intact.
  1. Depending upon which of the credible works you believe, it is somewhere between 90% and 99% effective at preventing actual ovulation. There are numbers out of the range, but they all seemed to come from fringe groups on either end.
  2. the chemical composition of the path to the uterus is changed, making it more hostile to sperm, thus less likely to reach the end of the journey.
  3. (the horrific part) It affects the uterine walls, so in the event that a child is conceived, it will have trouble latching on. 😱
Not that the last is not
“contraception”, but rather “contra-implantation.”

Look at the data sheets for triphasil, and the statement of their own scientists. That is the third “phase”.

“According to statistics the number of annulments granted annually in the United States soared from 338 in 1968, to 28,918 in 1974, to a peak of 63,933 in 1991.”**
The soaring of numbers from 1968 to 1991 indicates one of two things:

A) Proportionally, there must have been many invalid marriages in the early part of the time frame that were not known to be invalid (as the questioning of validity only occurs when consideration to an annulment arises) or

B) The Church has not been firm on the teaching of the indissolubility of marriage over the said time frame.

“Contra-implantation” is still contraception because it prevents the baby from being born.

Keep in mind the statistic of 1968 - it was under the old Code of Canon Law which had very few grounds to find lack of validity. 1991 may have been the peak; it also may or may not have represented any number of divorced couples who could not apply under the old Code, or who applied and did not receive a decree.

Without more in-depth research (I am not a paid subscriber to CARA) I hve found the following:in 2007 the number of decrees were 35,009, or 54.76% of the 1991 number. Of those, 21% were form cases (primarily a Catholic not marrying in the Church), or 7355.

In 2013, 23,591 cases were processed, with 21,079 granted a decree of nullity. As this includes those which are form cases, assuming (as there was no note as to how many) about 20%, that would be about 4215 form cases and about 17,000 for impediment or defective consent.

In any event, the number of cases has gone down significantly since 1991; additionally there are other factors at work, such as fewer Catholics getting married (at least, in church weddings); and we have the grandchildren of the grandparents who were not adequately catechized in the late '60s to 70’s, and their children who likewise were poorly catechized, leaving us with grandchildren with little or no faith.

Another point which comes up is the high number of cases submitted to a tribunal which receive a decree of nullity. What is never told when those statistics are bandied about is the number of cases which never reached the tribunal; people who met with a priest and were told they had no case; met with a priest and culd not or would not fill out the forms; lack of witnesses adequate to file, lack of evidence actually gathered (witness statements, and statements from the petitioner); and people who for various other reasons withdrew. In short, there is a fairly vigorous winnowing before the case ever gets to the tribunal.

I was aware of that; my question was directed to a poster who said that Luther broke off from the Church because he wanted a divorce and remarriage… T’wasn’t Luther…

“Contra-implantation” is still contraception because it prevents the baby from being born.
It’s worse–instead of preventing the baby coming into being, it causes the child to die as it naturally seeks the safety and care of his mother. 😡

Contraception, contra-implantation - it doesn’t change the fact that both "contra"s contradict the Fifth Commandment (NOT the Fifth Suggestion!) “Thou shalt not kill.” (or "Thou shalt not murder.)
