Not only that…but the CCC is not the final authority on Catholic teaching. I know that sounds confusing…but it’s true. The current version of the CCC and CCC841 are primarily the opinions of JPII.
I am not Catholic and I don’t know that much about Catholocism.

I don’t know much of what changed between Vatican and Vatican II.

But I do know that VII added the CCC841

I know…they redeem themselves by stone throwing. 🤷
For the Love of God…

No… no… no…

First you must do Hajj, go around the Kaba 7 times & kiss it.

That cleanses your sins

Then you do the stone throwing …

Got it… !!! 👍

When it’s all done, it’s done.

Is the Hajj a dance or something? I thought they just were a stones throw away from the black box and threw stones. When they were done they went home and ate supper. That’s not it?

The current version of the CCC and CCC841 are primarily the opinions of Vatican II and JPII. Somehow I don’t think Benedict has quite the same admiration for islam.
Thank goodness for that! In fact, Pope Benedict XVI baptized a nominal Muslim, Magdi Allam, at the Easter vigil in 2008.

Grand(?) Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini handed down a death sentence for Salman Rushdie, and Islamists have laid a bounty on the head of Coptic TV evangelist Fr. Zakaria Boutros. The pope is a far more visible public figure, so one wonders why no one has made an attempt on his life yet. (I of course don’t want this man of great intellect and piety to be killed, but I’d be very curious to see how prominent Islamic clerics would react to such a terrible event.)

LOL

Yes, I’m laughing…!!! 😃

No the Hajj is not a dance… it’s a pilgrimage, same as if you were to go to Jerusalem.

That is what Hajj is. - but it’s in SA.

And no, they don’t throw stones on the black cube called the kaba or “ka’ba” - they throw stones on satan’s house.

You know there’s lots of info on the web on this.

You can study from islamic sites as well as non-islamic ones.

Good night poster!

I’m still laughing. 😛

Actually I have from time to time heard on the news where there have been threats of attacking the Pope from muslim terrorist groups. We can only pray that Pope Benedict remains safe.

jakasaki;
Or should I say… " I PROFESS" that they have left the CC, since CCC841 claims that the “muslims PROFESS to uphold the faith of Abraham”
I am a Catholic, and if I should have eternal salvation, it will not be because of what I have done in my life, my salvation depends on the grace, mercy and forgiveness of our Lord Jesus.

I have friends and family of different religions and no religion, I pray that they may also be shown this same grace, mercy and forgiveness despite their differences.

Blessings

Eric

What if you sin again after that? Do you have to go back and do it again?

The post you reported was nothing other than TRUE.
No one has authority to pass judgment on any religion being true or false.
And no forum rules were violated that I can see.
You don’t seem to understand forum rules
They ARE hypocrites the way they cite a “corrupt” text and then say it can’t be trusted because it is corrupted. That dualism. THAT is Islam’s typical nature.
These are uncharitable comments which you should refrain from making.
And Thistle is now suspended for telling the truth it seems. Hope you’re happy.
The deletion of that post is certainly a good thing. But how can there be happiness or unhappiness about another’s suspension?
Bloody 'L, talking about charity while acting like a thief of the concept?
You can’t redefine charity according to your whim.
And the issue here IS ABOUT REACHING TRUTH!
Whatever be the issue here, the discussion must adhere to forum rules.

You’re making judgments on someone you are condemning for making evaluations of a particular situation. And…whether a religion is true or false is of great importance. Many people are being lead astray by the false teachings of Mohammad despite your condoning of islam. Do you respect and treat Anton Levay’s religion the same way? After all he did write his version of the Satanic Bible. Just wondering???

You are free to expose the truth or falsehood of any religion without using uncharitable language or passing judgment.

Then, don’t call any religion, false.
If one does not think that other religions are false, how could you possibly be a Christian? Being a Christian is accepting this religion as truth and the one way to heaven. That would essentially mean that you are accepting that all other religions are false. Its impossible to not judge other religions when you are religious yourself. It is by your judgment that you chose Christianity because you believe it is true. If Christianity is true, it would be impossible for others to be true as-well. You don’t like judgment but you fail to see that as a christian, you are essentially judging religion yourself. Not trying to cause a fight. I’m just letting you know how I see this situation.

The belief you have within yourself is your right. No one denies it. But you have no right to proclaim a belief which is uncharitable to another.

If you judge another religion to be false and your own to be true, no one is affected by it but yourself. However you have NO right to pronounce any other religion to be false

This is nothing but philosophical talk. Jesus warned about false prophets and false religions. To profess a spade to be a spade is within the write of a Christian if he is to follow Jesus’ command to spread the Gospel. St Paul call other religions false. That’s it!

There is no philosophy here, but simple forum rules. If you don’t agree, then take up with the forum administration.
