In recent days, there have been several lively discussions on CQ referring to Biblical interpretation, and prophecy in particular. I have to say, first of all, that this kind of discussion poses challenges in moderating, as quite frankly, there's just so much there. The article above, which admittedly is kind of lengthy, provides some good points of departure.

I do remind commentators that long, involved essays are not really what we are looking for here on CQ. For those who want to engage in extended commentaries, there are sites that offer such a forum, Substack being one of them. I don't want to denigrate anyone's sincere efforts, but there is such a thing as "gish-galloping", throwing so much out there that it actually discourages reading or discussion. The modern online colloquialism "TLDR" ("too long, didn't read") seems to apply here. So far, I have not established caps on the number of words permitted in a single post, nor a cap on posts by a single commentator in a thread, but both of those things are options.

Finally, I advise great caution in going outside the traditional teachings of the Church and the analogia fidei (analogy of faith). Protestantism has splintered out into more denominations than can be counted, because each believer sees himself or herself as being guided by the Holy Spirit. This has led to many, many aberrations, some of them very harmful, such as handling of serpents, drinking poison, and maiming oneself to remove temptation to sin. What is even more harmful is when someone is led out of the bosom of the Church. Our Lord established one Church that will endure to the end of time, the gates of Hell will not prevail against her.

Thanks to everyone for your good participation.

Catholic Answers -The question before us is, “How do we read the Bible as a Catholic?”

To get at the literal sense, we “must be attentive to what the human authors truly wanted to affirm and to what God wanted to reveal to us by their words” (109). To get at the author’s intention, we must “take into account the conditions of their time and culture, the literary genres in use at that time, and the modes of fealling, speaking, and narrating then current” (110). Then, as we explore the spiritual sense—the deeper meanings of the text placed there by the Holy Spirit—the Catechism lays out three criteria (i.e. principles of discernment) offered by the Second Vatican Council:

"offered by the Second Vatican Council:" nothing sus there :cool:
Human authors? Usurp much? Who writes this smack! I get the spirit of tripping because you gotta be on something to go along with this delusion.
2 Timothy 3: 16All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for instruction, for conviction, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17so that the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work.…

Luke 24: 44- 45
Jesus Unveils the Scriptures
44Jesus said to them, “These are the words I spoke to you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about Me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms.” 45Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.

That whole Catholic Answers article is so full of so much blasphemy I can't stand it! This denomination has become full of leaven of Pharisees and Sadducee pretentions of grandeur. You would think the account of the apostles in Acts 4:
The Name Forbidden
12Salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” 13When they saw the boldness of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they marveled and took note that these men had been with Jesus. 14And seeing the man who had been healed standing there with them, they had nothing to say in response.…
You shut the kingdom of heaven on men and you, yourselves do not even enter in.

Clearly, speaking in TRUTH of the name forbidden by this council is not allowed. Those initiated (in the mystery schools) established it- Vatican II, to usurp and lie! Gave covid shots on top of that even demanded you take them, will give the Mark of the Beast as well. That is why she is even still standing. " The strong delusion is sent to those who are perishing because they had no room for the truth and believe the lie".

Apocalypse 18:
“Come out of her, my people,
lest you take part in her sins,
lest you share in her sins
5for her sins are heaped high as heaven,
and God has remembered her iniquities.
6Pay her back as she herself has paid back others, (What Mystery Babylon has paid back to others? I said in a post, the name written upon the head of the Harlot-A Mystery Babylon, is who owns the Vatican. Pay back for what? For destroying their Talmud via a convert Jew to his rightful Tree, who informed Papal Hierarchy of its contents and vile hatred and remarks about Christ and His Mother and their intent toward the goyim. In 1236, a Jewish apostate, Nicholas Donin, submitted a memorandum to Pope Gregory IX listing 35 charges against the Talmud. Pay back for curtailing their liberties to loan at usury and their blood libel they practiced! If you follow Vatican II, you got their Pharmekia/Shots full of the Cov fefe your genome is usurped " Let us break their chains 🧬 and cast away their cords from us "Psalm 2: 3 . They want to give all the Mark of the Beast via the RCC too!)
and repay her double for her deeds;
mix a double portion for her in the cup she mixed.
7As she glorified herself and lived in luxury,
so give her a like measure of torment and mourning,
since in her heart she says,
‘I sit as a queen,
I am no widow,
and mourning I shall never see.’
8For this reason her plagues will come in a single day,
death and mourning and famine,
and she will be burned up with fire;
for mighty is the Lord God who has judged her.”

Yes! We must always stay close to Catholic tradition and the traditional teachings that have come down to us from Jesus and the Apostles via the Holy Ghost.
