There are concerns over an increasing trend of anti-Catholicism in the country
A Labour Member of the Scottish Parliament has called on Holyrood to recognise the growing problem of anti-Catholicism in Scotland. It follows a government report which suggests that Catholics are the victims of 57 per cent of all religiously aggravated offences reported in the country.

Elaine Smith MSP raised the subject in the Scottish Parliament last week, following an incident in which a church near Glasgow was vandalised and the Blessed Sacrament desecrated.

This is sad but not surprising to me. Anti-Catholicim will always be with us in some places throughout the world. I find comfort in God’s promise that the gates of hell shall not prevail against the Church.

We will survive this as well . All glory to God!

And yet some believe Catholics even in the West, and Christians generally, are ‘exaggerating’ or suffer from a persecution complex or ‘privileged’ groups can’t be victims of hate. So ‘privileged’ nearly every single battle in the culture wars started by the political Left has been lost by Christians.

Far from the first time this has occurred in the land of my ancestors,
but I’m sad it is so now.
May God bless and protect Scottish Catholics, and all Christians who are persecuted.
And may God heal the minds and hearts of their persecutors with Christian love and understanding.
