I might have been a little blunt in my comment, my apologies. I did not mean to make anyone feel angry, or hurt, or whatever. Ideally, I would have taken the time to explain my stance on the issue, and it would have had to do with the fact that Protestantism has been declared a heresy by the Catholic Church, at the Council of Trent.
about non-Catholic Christians on here.
I love non-Catholic Christians. My ancestral family is made up of them, unfortunately. I was talking about the schools and their teaching when I made that comment.
IMHO, disagree.
I disagree as well, maybe for a different reason.

While we can agree that Protestantism is heresy and heresy is attack from Devil, calling Protestant schools Devil’s work is a bit confusing in very least. Those people educate others in Christian faith - in heresy, but Christian one. They validly baptize and bring people into closer relation to the Church and can offer salvation through what is Catholic in them. Yeah, not ideal but Protestants who sincerely believe in Christ are better than Atheists who don’t have relationship with Him at all.

I am not saying heresies are good thing, but God uses bad things to get good out of them very often.

Heresy is often the work of man’s own pride or lack of knowledge. We give the Devil far more credit than is due.
Yes, of course cooperation is present but in the end temptations come from him… heresy is a lie, and what is Satan father of?

Are you saying non-Catholic Christians are the product of Satan? Kinda sounds like it.

No one, not even me, is saying all, or any, non-Catholic Christians are, or are not heretics. What I, and, I believe some other posters are saying, is that some of the teachings in non-Catholic schools could be what the Catholic Church would consider to be false teachings.

Heck, I am not too excited about my daughter going to a week long, two hour a day class at a local non-Catholic, mega church where they will do fun things like archery, etc.

In my opinion, this is one way they get people to join their church. Which is fine if the people who join are almost completely unchurched, or if they are from other non-Catholic faiths. The danger is when Catholics begin to like the idea of sitting on their butts in a comfortable chair and drinking coffee, eating a cookie, and listening to someone talk about their understanding of scripture for an hour on Sunday morning.

In all fairness, the word was brought up.

They were called the work of Satan.

Eh…maybe. Or it’s their way of giving back to the community.

Every year my wife’s parish puts on a block party where the whole community is invited. Do you suppose they’re trying to give back to the community or recruit more members.

Heck, there’s an education program there that was started, with a little research, one of the goals of the program was conversion of us non-Catholic spouses…so it isn’t unheard of for a church to try to gain members.

Uh, pardon?

I grew up in and come from a non-denominational background. I find this statement a bit arrogant and a passive aggressive insult towards non-Catholic Christians you “love”.

Me too. In fact, my parents left the Lutheran church to create a church with three other couples. Believe me, I’ve been there. Thankfully, I left.
The mega church I am referring to chooses, in their marketing, to highlight the comfortable chairs, coffee bar, cookies, etc. which people can enjoy during the service. I was not clear about that.

No, no you weren’t.

Yes, of course. But, what you do not understand is that it is a big deal if a Catholic falls for some of the false teachings of a non-Catholic church. The same teachings kids are taught at non-Catholic schools.

When a person leaves the Catholic faith it is a major sin if it is done with full knowledge and consent. It doesn’t matter if said person still goes to “A” church. They might as well go golfing or fishing every Sunday morning. Bottom line is, they are not going to Mass. There is a very real danger here of people losing their souls. My brother-in-law is one of these people. This is why my response to the topic has been so visceral.

You’re also assuming that the church in question is hosting the youth only to “gain members”

Wow…

And disrespectful.

Is that a yes or a no?
In my view, every non-Catholic religion is fruit of sin (that does exclude some philosophies though). I am not saying those professing those religions are product of Satan, but that their religions are not completely true and contain some lies. Satan is father of lies. I hope that answers your question.

So you believe every non-Catholic Christian is, therein, the fruit of sin?

Do you not subsrcibe to the the Church’s teaching of “brothers and sisters in Christ”. I’m guessing no, but thought I’d ask.

OK…personally, the bold is pretty hypocratic, sorry.

Why would that be hypocritical? People fell to trap of heresy when following those religions, same way i fall to trap of temptation daily. We are all sinners. They are just victims of Satan’s lies, not his accomplices.

I do. They are Children of God, made in His Holy Image. I am not saying people are fruits of sin or that they are not our brothers and sisters. I am simply saying that their religion in itself is fruit of sin.
