Catholics, if you found yourself on an all-Protestant planet, what would your church choice be?

Well I would start a Catholic Church. 😃

I would be Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod without a doubt. They are the closest to Catholicism for protestants when taking into consideration faith and morals, along with liturgy. If it was just for the experience when worshipping in church probably high church Anglo-Catholic.

The Presbyterian are american copies of the Dutch Reformed church (yes, in that order). It was the official state church of the Netherlands up till Napoleon. They were the church that held the Synod of Dordt, where the 5 points of Calvinism were decided upon.

Still weird that everytime protestantism is mentioned, people in the non-catholic religions forum get all nasty and worked up. No such thing happens when things about Eastern or Oriental Orthodoxy are posted. That might have been different were there no Reformation 😛

How does a “Protestant Church” exist without something to protest??? 😃

Now if we are talking about “non-Catholic” then my choice would be Orthodox…

Ok, James. Pretend that on this planet the government tried to restrict religious free exercise (sort of like The Second Diet of Speyer, where the term “protestant” has its origin). What then? 😃

May Jews participate in this “game”? For me, it would have to be either Unitarian Universalist or Quakerism.

I imagine I would be at the same point that I was before finding the Catholic Church, and that is not a Christian at all. After being raised in protestant denominations, for my own reasons, I had given up on Christianity altogether. 🤷 Though if I had to pick one, probably United Church of Canada.

I would start a parish. Um…I can tell this won’t end well for me. 😃

I’d also have been elected pope before the end of all the other Catholics. 😛
