But doesn’t the mere fact that the candidate is wrong on this issue demonstrate such poor judgment that it discredits him/her immediately?But a politician may or may not be able to do anything about abortion while he is in office. Should a theoretical position on abortion determine our vote when practical considerations involving other life issues will certainly be addressed?
If a candidate was in favor of bringing back slavery, but had no political means to do so, would you vote for him? I doubt it.
