Is this a problem in other countries? My experience is that Catholics, including me, tend to be silent about their views in certain contexts, especially on college campuses or among very liberal types. There is an extreme peer pressure that implies anyone who still actually believes Catholicism is equivalent to a flat earth fanatic, or maybe some worse kind of fanatic.

I find that people are ok talking about religion as long as it is limited to work for human equality, or maybe personalized “spirituality” as a goal in itself. But beyond that, do you find pressure for Catholics to keep quiet where you are?

I have spoken to my children about this. I ask if they discuss their faith in school, and they tell me they do not do so out of fear. It breaks my heart.
