Catholics. Is Salvation Easy Or Complicated?

The Scripture also says not to follow them blindly. How can you do that if you don’t know what the truth is nor the qualifications and how they relate to true teachers versus false teachers?

God is serious about the qualifications of these pastor-teachers and the ones worthy of double reward are those who “work hard at preaching and teaching” what? The Scripture.

How does the Bible say that you can tell the spirit of Truth from the spirit of Error?

No Justy, the Catholic Church is not "Roman’. You have been misinformed about your family history.

Furthermore, Catholicism is not a “denomination”. On the contrary, all the Protestant factions have “denominated” from Catholicism. All of them define themselves against Catholicism. It is the only thing they all have in common.

All the Reformers defined themselves according to how much, and which of the Catholic faith they rejected. They named, defined, or “denominated” themselves from Catholicism. The Catholic faith is the faith that was founded upon the Apostles and prophets, and therefore, is not “denominated” from anything.

Was reading up on this thread and this caught my eye.

I think the saying “You get what you give” is applicable sometimes. Not saying you alone.

Robert, u spoke so much to deny ur stand of its insuffiency only to show otherwise. if its not already clear, ur act of applying that verse only on exception cases reflects ur take of its insufficiency. That needs no excuses. And that qualifies u for heresy. Secondly, if receiving the Holy spirit is not an assurance of salvation then u must be holding a book thats not written by God. Cos God Himself claims in the bible that the spirit calls out Abba Father! And u are denying these people of their sonship! Are you then not the devil?

Your post is almost incomprehensible, but I will do my best to respond. As you will recall it was not I that threw out this single bible verse as proof of anything. It was you who threw it out as a putative “proof text” for your assumption of the doctrine of salvation by faith alone (and/or assurance of salvation). But as I and others have pointed out to you again and again, the verse does not support what you have asserted. It must be understood in context with other verses of scripture. I am not dismissing the verse in any way. It is a beautiful statement of God’s promise of salvation. But it does not support the conclusion that you ascribe. Once baptized a person can most definitely be lost because of their sin and rejection of God’s grace. God’s grace is not forced on anyone, most certainly not by the Holy Spirit. And nothing written by John Calvin convinces me otherwise.

That being said, I have denied no one their “sonship” and I am no demon or devil. The fact that you make such accusations causes me to question your own sincerity.
