kneejerk and poorly thought out over reactions.
That’s an amazing new title for the Rosary!

No, these evil people already have received plenty of news coverage. The prayer vigil is a visible to sign to others that this type of behavior is not acceptable and there are real people who oppose it. To not hold a public demonstration against it would be tantamount to accepting it.

While I tend to agree that religious symbols should be reserved for practitioners of the religion, unfortunately when you’ve had the KKK in the past winning the right to display a cross labeled with the organization name on public grounds, it seems like any group can now use any symbol unless the authorities can somehow classify their use of the symbol as hate speech. Also, given that Satan and his followers are a tricky bunch, I never quite believe it when people say “oh I don’t worship Satan, I’m just using this Satanic image to poke fun at religion.”

‘It would not be long before you were brought before the police for antisocial statements.’

What did I say that was ‘antisocial’?

It’s very concerning that you suggest my commendation of the Rosary and allusions to spiritual warfare as ‘antisocial’ while speaking up for the rights of a Satanic display.

Have faith and love them.
And that’s exactly what these people are doing. They are praying for the conversion of their souls. That is both faithful and loving.

Jesus never said that to love someone is to accept their sinful behavior.

You might have a point there, we as the Chosen People
of God, thru adoption thru Christ Jesus, must stand up
when ppl are sinning against the Name of Christ and
rebelling against God by worship of what are NOT God.
They are going to HELL and do not know it. UNLESS
WE call attention to their sin and trespass, like protesting
by saying the rosary in reply to their setting
up this abomination.

What is especially overwrought about praying the rosary? It’s quite a peaceful, meditative prayer.

Actually the Satanist are doing us a favor by putting up that statue. If they don’t actually believe in Satan, then what is the purpose of displaying the statue in the first place? This would cause people to question their intentions. If they do, then they agree with us that Satan does exist.

Yes

It’s like looking at a loved one who takes methamphetamines and saying you’re okay with it as long as it makes them happy.

4 And the king commanded Helcias the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the doorkeepers, to cast out of the temple of the Lord all the vessels that had been made for Baal, and for the grove, and for all the host of heaven: and he burnt them without Jerusalem in the valley of Cedron, and he carried the ashes of them to Bethel.

5 And he destroyed the soothsayers, whom the kings of Juda had appointed to sacrifice in the high places in the cities of Juda, and round about Jerusalem: them also that burnt incense to Baal, and to the sun, and to the moon, and to the twelve signs, and to all the host of heaven.

6 And he caused the grove to be carried out from the house of the Lord without Jerusalem to the valley of Cedron, and he burnt it there, and reduced it to dust, and cast the dust upon the graves of the common people.

7 He destroyed also the pavilions of the effeminate, which were in the house of the Lord, for which the women wove as it were little dwellings for the grove.

8 And he gathered together all the priests out of the cities of Juda: and he defiled the high places, where the priests offered sacrifice, from Gabaa to Bersabee: and he broke down the altars of the gates that were in the entering in of the gate of Josue governor of tile city, which was on the left hand of the gate of the city.

9 However the priests of the high places came not up to the altar of the Lord in Jerusalem: but only ate of the unleavened bread among their brethren.

10 And he defiled Topheth, which is in the valley of the son of Ennom: that no man should consecrate there his son or his daughter through fire to Moloch.

11 And he took away the horses which the kings of Juda had given to the sun, at the entering in of the temple of the Lord, near the chamber of Nathanmelech the eunuch, who was in Pharurim: and he burnt the chariots of the sun with fire.

12 And the altars that were upon the top of the upper chamber of Achaz, which the kings of Juda had made, and the altars which Manasses had made in the two courts of the temple of the Lord, the king broke down: and he ran from thence, and cast the ashes of them into the torrent Cedron.

13 The high places also that were at Jerusalem on the right side of the Mount of Offence, O which Solomon king of Israel had built to Astaroth the idol of the Sidonians, and to Chamos the scandal of Moab, and to Melchom the abomination of the children of Ammon, the king defiled.

14 And he broke in pieces the statues, and cut down the groves: and he filled their places with the bones of dead men.

15 Moreover the altar also that was at Bethel, and the high place, which Jeroboam the son of Nabat, who made Israel to sin, had made: both the altar, and the high place he broke down and burnt, and reduced to powder, and burnt the grove.

16 And as Josias turned himself, he saw there the sepulchres that were in the mount: and he sent and took the bones out of the sepulchres, and burnt them upon the altar, and defiled it according to the word of the Lord, which the man of God spoke, who had foretold these things.

“These public Satanic offenses are a direct mockery of Christ’s nativity and these attacks must be met with opposition, which we are adhering to with prayer.”
Wonderful idea to pray the rosary Nice! Gen 3:15 Mary would defeat satan by her Children Jesus and us Revelation 12:17 Then the dragon was angry with the woman, and went off to make war on the rest of her children, those who keep the commandments of God and hold the testimony of Jesus.

The Rosary as the Weapon for Peace

“Say the Rosary every day to obtain world peace and an end to war.” ~ Our Lady of Fatima , 5-13-1917

“Would you like me to tell you a ‘secret’? It is simple, and after all, is no secret: Pray, pray much. Say the Rosary every day.” ~ St. Pope John Paul the Great

“A world at prayer is a world at peace.” ~ Father Patrick Peyton, C.S.C.

“The Rosary is the most beautiful and richest of all prayers to the Mediatrix of all grace; it is the prayer that touches most the heart of the Mother of God. Say it each day.” ~ Pope St. Pius X

“To turn the evil in America, a tithe of Rosaries should be offered to God. If 10% of Catholics in the United States would pledge to join the Rosary Crusade, satanic evil would be crushed in our nation.” ~ Father Albert Shamon

“Pray and let the Rosary always be in your hands as a sign to Satan that you belong to me.” ~ Our Lady to St. Simon Stock

Historical Victories in Prayer

October 7, 1571 — In the great battle of Lepanto, October 7th, 1571 a greatly outnumbered force of Christian defenders held off a Turkish invasion. It was considered a miraculous victory brought about specifically through the Rosary, for St. Pius V’s Crusade, united all of Europe in prayer.

May 13, 1955 — After 700,000 people agreed to pray the Rosary in Austria, the Soviets mysteriously departed the country on the anniversary date of Fatima-May 13th, 1955.

October 13, 1960 — After Pope John XXIII called for prayer, a million pilgrims in Fatima held an all night prayer vigil before the Blessed Sacrament. The next day, October 13, 1960, an accident destroyed a new Soviet missile, killing many top scientists and setting back the Soviet nuclear arms program by at least 20 years.

May 13, 1984 — After another major Rosary Crusade, a massive explosion on May 13, 1984, eliminated two-thirds of the missiles of the Soviet Union’s powerful Northern Fleet.

May 12, 1988 — Four years later it happened again! As thousands prayed all night long, on May 12, 1988, during the vigil of the anniversary of the apparition at Fatima, another major explosion shut down the Soviet Union’s only missile plant.

Rutherford2> These people should pray secretly

There’s no reason to pray “secretly” when we are praying for the common good of all. Those Catholics aren’t praying to show how holy they are, in fact a lot of people will criticize them as shown on this thread. They’re praying because it’s their right under the Constitution of the United States to express themselves in opposition to speech they don’t like (the Satanic statue is considered a form of speech in USA), and because group prayer is good and group public prayer is witnessing.
I wish along with the rosary ,they would have come up with an exorcism, on the lines of Anti-abortion protest and exorcism targeting Salt Lake City’s on PP

If it stays there long enough, somebody will be throwing Fr. Z’s Blessed Salt at it. Not a joke. Maybe they already have.

yes very true.

ON THE DEVIL
Pope John Paul II

In his discourse at the general audience of August 13, 1986, the Holy Father commented at great length on the fall of the angels. This was an eminently pastoral allocution:

"Satan wishes to destroy life lived in accordance with the truth, life in the fullness of good, the supernatural life of grace and love. . . .

"As the result of the sin of our first parents, this fallen angel has acquired dominion over man to a certain extent. This is the doctrine that has been constantly professed and proclaimed by the Church, and which the Council of Trent confirmed in its treatise on original sin (cf. DS, 1511).

"In Sacred Scripture we find various indications of this influence on man and on the dispositions of his spirit (and of his body). In the Bible, Satan is called the prince of this world' (cf. Jn. 12:31; 14:30; 16:11) and even the god of this world’ (2 Cor. 4:4).

I have no problem praying the rosary for this sort of thing, but I wonder if there may be a more effective way in light of Matthew Chapter 6 beginning at verse 5. ““When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, who love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on street corners so that others may see them. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward.
6
But when you pray, go to your inner room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will repay you…”

They are lucky this is not a Christian nation. Imagine what Charlemagne would have done about this. Better times.

Religious freedom is a heresy.

Nowadays, in our culture we are more likely to succumb to keep our prayer private because of embarrassment or not being ‘offensive’ to other people.

I’ve taken part in Eucharistic processions and public Rosary chains. The spirit of these was not ‘Hey look how pious we are!’ (Prayer to earn to esteem of others). Rather, it was more a spirit of ‘I am not afraid to show the world I believe in and will stand for my God, Jesus Christ.’

Fair enough on both. I didn’t post that to be accusatory, just offering a different angle.

The idea that someone would use the words the poster above just did to describe people who are publicly praying is the exact reason why we have to continue to pray publicly even more so.

I personally could not care less how my saying the rosary in public at a rosary rally of any kind looks to the rest of the world. I’m not doing it to get compliments from strangers looking on, nor do their opinions affect my life one iota.
