I beg to differ, and I am Catholic not Jewish. More Jewish people were killed in the Holocaust than any other religion (Catholics don’t even come close).
Even one death like that is too many. There was plenty enough suffering to go aound.

6 million Jews and 3 million Polish Catholics died in the death camps.

I don’t have a figure for the other non Jewish nations, but Gypsy’s lost over 100 thousand I think, as well as a similar number of German nationals. It is a fact that some Americans, British, Czechs and Scandinavians died in the death camps of the holocaust, although not large numbers like the Jews and the Poles.

About 20 million Soviet citizens perished then, mostly due to the conventional war, starvation and exposure.
Throughout history, Christians (Catholic and Protestant) have persecuted Jews.
Yes.

I’m hopeful though not optimistic. I go to a very multicultural church, in which attendance has swelled in recent years. Filipino, Polish, Indian, African and other non-UK born Catholics make up at least half our congregation, and while I’m glad that there is a little more life in our church, I think that the immigration will just slow the decline in Christianity in the UK. Most of the churches I’ve been to are low on orthodoxy, and a watered-down faith stands little chance against the hardcore secularism of everyday life.

**I agree absolutely. But the answer is to refocus our faith, and not dilute it. I hope and pray that Britain’s slide into immorality is not irreversible. But I fear it is. **
it’s a racist teaching.
**For the last time- NO IT ISN’T. It is neither a teaching nor is it racist. It’s a discriminatory law. **
Well with 3 millions catholics killed during the holocaust in poland alone. Not to mention the millions of catholics who died out side of those camps. is mind boggling. Since the beging of the church we catholics have been persescuted. From Jesus down. from the muderous nazi’s to the racist royal family of britain All enjoy laying the boot into us catholics. So i’m sorry to inform you. we catholics are by far the most persescutied people on the face of this earth. even today the rage still goess on towards us.
p.s lets not forget the russians 20 million of them died for the simple reason of being russian.
**Catholics have persecuted Jews throughout history for the supposed crime of deicide. That led to a prevailing anti-semitism that was seized upon by Adolf Hitler. Catholics died in the Holocaust too, absolutely, including St Maximilien Kolbe. But no way were we worst off. Come on. Catholicism is never the most persecuted religion in history. We have 1.1bn members and growing. We are the Established church in many nations, and the richest religious organisation, I guess. **

Look the Catholic movement (people) has been attacked from the start. First off the jewish leaders had our leader killed ( Thats Jesus btw). Then romans had their go. Then the muslims gave it their best shot. Then the protestants had their fun. (their vicous racist laws excist today) Then came hitler. And now secularisim (sp) is having a go. None has suffered as much as the catholics. Sure the hate has been focused on others from time to time, but sooner or later the spotlight of hate gets focused back onto us Gods chosen people.

But that is so shockingly unimportant unless he was resurrected. That is the basis of our faith, as St Paul said. So he triumphed over that group of Jews- not all Jews (I’m sure you don’t blame all Jews either, but it should be clear). **

Then romans had their go.
**Again, true, and terrible. **

Then the muslims gave it their best shot.
**Where and when? I am unsure about this one, could be true. **

Then the protestants had their fun.
We did it to them too- burned them at the stake. It was war, not ‘fun’.

(their vicous racist laws excist today)
For goodness sake, can you not read? THEY ARE NOT RACIST LAWS.

Then came hitler.
**Catholics were persecuted, but not all Catholics, and not in any way like the Jewish people. **

And now secularisim (sp) is having a go.
**It’s sad. But IN ABSOLUTELY NO WAY is it comparable to the Holocaust, which is how it seems from your post, since they are in the same list. **

Sure the hate has been focused on others from time to time,
**Nice of you to remind us of that fact. **

but sooner or later the spotlight of hate gets focused back onto us Gods chosen people
**All people are God’s chosen people, if they follow his path. The Church is not a race. **
