Hopefully you’re not one of them!
There were people still fighting after the surrender at Appomattox.You’re saying that southerners didn’t know what the Civil War was about? That’s sort of condescending.
Do some digging into the actual history.What on earth are you talking about? They had to fight or die? No one knew what was happening? Sure, whatever.
Still isn’t now.Rural Arkansas wasn’t exactly Charleston.
Accurate. :raised_hands:t3::raised_hands:t3:
They weren’t dumb.People weren’t dumb. They knew what was happening.
Almost all of the US was rural in 1860, even the small cities. People still knew what was happening, they most certainly were not ignorant of the war and it’s causes. The lead up to the Civil War was years in the making.Have you actually studied what life was like in rural America in the 1860s?
You’re not going to say the Civil War was about slavery. Your postition is that “it’s complicated”.What position?
Of course it was.Almost all of the US was rural in 1860, even the small cities.
Nope. That took another 100 years - and it was actually WORSE from about 1880 to the 1940s than it had ever been prior to that time.What’s the solution? The war didn’t stop the mistreatment.
