borj, I’d ask you to just pray for Thorwald as he seems to have left this thread long ago and isn’t coming back.

Perhaps he was just busy, perhaps he didn’t like what he heard that made him doubt. I only pray that what little did get through can grow in him to make him see the Truth and not his “revealed truth”.

So please, pray for him. 🙂
I am currently emailing Thorwald, I will ask him to get back onto this thread if you like?

Huh?? How can this be, RCIA begins in September. Looking at your profile I see you have 1,387 posts in just 2 months. Hmmm?
What are you saying??? Why does everybody on CAF give me the most wild accusations!?

Not being accusatory, just find it mind boggling on the post count in such a very small window of time. That’s incredible!

Well… I was a methodist and I had left my church for about 6 months when I came on this site! I was so desperate just to talk to some christians… that’s why my posting is so high numbered! And have you seen all of my threads, there are about 38 of them all together! 😃

If he wants to return then let him, I don’t want to be forcing anything or making it seem like a confrontation. Besides, I think that prayer is what’s needed. I already tried words quite a few times, so it’s time for something stronger. 😉 I hope you join me in that.

And I agree Zundrah, Americans can be so strange. 😛

Lol - Americans are very, very strange!

**P.S. I will say this to Thorwald;

Hi Thorwald, those crazy catholics are demanding that you return to this thread so that they can abuse you! ;):p:D**

…I wont really say that to him, he he…

God bless you.

…I have missed out out on all this for so long (I never knew the Catholic faith) I feel sad for those who will not turn to our church for their spiritruality to grow and be nuertured.

Please tell me the other bad things about my denomination to keep me from ever being so stupid as to go back there… or how about other stuff about catholicism that I don’t know about yet?

P.S. I am currently taking RICA classes. :yeah_me: (yay me!)
I’m in RCIA right now too (!!!). Coming from a Presbyterian background, I know what you mean when you talk about all that was missing from your past church experience. However, I’d encourage you not to dwell on all you missed out on, but instead be thankful for how God USED your Protestant experience to ultimately bring you into His Church. Looking back, I can definately see God’s guiding hand in my own journey. Ya know, I honestly don’t think I could have jumped into Catholicism from scratch. God knows I’m hard-headed and needed baby-steps. =) AND I have known so many good Protestants that have really shown me how to love God and live passionately. So, no regrets! Just go forward!!

I emailed Thorwald the link to this thread, let’s pray that he comes! 😃

I am Methodist, and you were in the WRONG church. The church I go to is vibrant in the community(even the Baptist’s and Penecostal’s SNEAK over sometimes. We have many Former Catholic about 15 that I know of(of course the Catholic church in the area has aa priest that doesent like kid’s.) I couldn’t believe that. We have communion 1st Sunday of every month. And the pastor personally serves us, as we dip our bread in grape juice(Methodism holds strong rules against alcohol.) and we have a good church. We don’t believe in confessing to a man, we confess to God himself.

You are obviously entitled to your opinion and that is respected. I was never a Methodist and don’t know much about them but Your post clearly shows what is meant by partial truths in other denominations. Example of focusing in on only needing to confess sins to God himself. God himself set up the office of the keys but that is a whole different thread. The Bible does not prohibit alcohol but it is clear on drunkenness. Once again could be a whole different thread.

As for the priest comment it is not a perfect world. It is sad but true.

I believe my friend, that you are a good man, and will make it to heaven just fine! The major thing I disagree with Catholic’s on is talking to people to get to Jesus! Like the priest, praying to saints, but I don’t believe that keeps us out of heaven.

is any man sick among you? let him bring in the priest of the Church, and let them Pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. and the prayer of faith shall save the sick man: and the Lord shall raise him up: and if he be in Sins, they shall be Forgiven him. James 5:14-15. interesting yes? peace 🙂

He said therefore to them again: peace be with you. as the Father hath sent me, i also send you. when he had said this, he breathed on them; and he said to them: recieve ye the Holy Ghost. whos sins you forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained. John 20:21-23. confess your sins one to another: and pray for one another, that YE MAY BE SAVED. for the continual prayer of a just man availeth much. james 5:16. i should have added that in my last post. my bad :o peace 🙂

In my methodist church we only did communion like maybe one or twice every six months! We didn’t even use wine, instead it was grape juice or pomegramate juice. We didn’t even have a special cup, instead we used many plastic disposible cups. There was not even the unleavened, instead it was normal bread…

No confession, no prayer room for you to go in alone… nothing. It was very social but just not enough.

Roman Catholic Church is so much better for you, confession, prayer room; one for christ, one for mary. A place to light a candle in memory of a decese, an eternal prayer or a plea to God, Christ of for a miracle during alot of suffering.

Zundrah,

Many in the different Protestant faiths are good pastors, good people, BUT they don’t have the fullness of the faith as you have come to know that only the Catholic Church has. It is the Holy Spirit that has given you the Grace to know this truth don’t ever loose it.

Zundrah, I may have missed it, but would you please tell me what you found lacking in or wrong with your old church?

BTW, I love your cats! I have a fold, too. They are really great! 🙂

Well do not consider yourself stupid. Second of all, if one looks at it from a historical view, the Methodist Church is an infant compared to the Catholic Church. But look at the Methodist church as the place that brought you to Christ and gave you a foundation and some catechesis. Are you a candidate or catechumen?

That is an entirely inaccurate statement. Then you have missed the boat on what the RCC entire mission is here on earth: Bring us to Jesus and preach the gospel.

Pray for him Fine. Say you can’t speak to the lord himself: not fine.

Then talk to Jesus about it through the Holy spirit that empowers us.
