Ask your friend sometime how many Protestants he knows who spend at least 20 minutes several times a week prayerfully meditating on the life and work of Jesus Christ. Not just praying a ‘wish list’ but really meditating on the life of Christ. Ask him how many folks spend a half hour or so a week in adoration of Christ, or set aside a special time every month for special prayer. Mention the Catholic prayer-practices such as the Rosary, Way of the Cross, Benediction of the Sacrament, First Friday/First Saturday devotions, etcetera. IMHO, Catholicism has most Protestants beaten like scrambled eggs when it comes to a deep prayer and devotional life. Just a thought.
