I wonder if many of these people would have been better not being taught it at all.
I [me here] suspect not:o

WHY?

Because they were at least made aware that GOD exist has expectations for each of us.

God Bless you

Yes. My catholic friends go to
  1. Pentecostal church if you want to experience that emphasis.
  2. Word of faith . like Kenneth Hagan . if you want to experience gifts of the spirit.
3 baptist if you want a good teaching

4 Evangelical if you want a inspired preaching

And

5 Catholic with the super communion Eucharist teaching

The church oh Jesus Christ is diverse.

Catholics are taught the “the real presence” communion Eucharist.

Would u go to church w/o this teaching?

There are thousands of churches every Sunday performing this ceremony without any “real evidence” or result.
CATHOLIC Churches???

Yes;/QUOTE]

So my friend,

Being that TRUTH can be nothing else but singular per defined issue; how can their can be so many different sets of Faith beliefs? AND you even include a “church” of non-Christians in your presumed equality:shrug:

The RCC still after 2,000 years still has just ONE set of beliefs.

I might very well be misreading what the original poster was intending, but here’s my interpretation:

What if in God’s plan for us he determined that it was unnecessary for there to be a real presence in the Eucharist? So that would mean it’s not a matter of one church believing in the real presence and another doesn’t and another considers it in a third way. Instead it would be as if God in this scenario was not present bodily in the bread and wine, that all churches (including the Catholic Church) rightly understood this, and everything else was the same. If this imagined scenario were accurate would you still attend Church?

Now please be advised that I have no dog in this fight and just see this as how would people react if God did things differently. I, personally, don’t see this as a treatise as to whether the real presence is accurate or not, but an interesting what-if scenario. (Again stressing very strongly that I could be very wrong in how I read the OP.)

I guess I worry they will be judged more harshly although I know it’s not good to speculate and I should focus on praying which I do. I also feel called to regularly pray for those who have some faith but are too anxious to approach the church.

Friend, GOD has to be PERFECT {God is every good thing perfected]

We Can [and therefore should “take it” and we can also choose NOT too… THAT my friend is why eternal hell or eternal heaven is ours, NOT GOD"S choice [i Tim,2: 3-4 & Isaiah 43: 7, 21

TRUTH [all but notably GOD"S TRUTHS] can be denied, ignored, and not understood; BUT cannot be altered. AMEN! [Means= I BELIEVE!]

Blessings

KEEP PRAYING, that is very good:thumbsup:

Mike posited a hypothetical and you responded "These are the facts’.

In other words, you were non-responsive.

To answer your hypothetical, yes, I would still attend church.

I hold and believe that God is the supreme Being; that his essence is Existence, that he is the Creator and is worthy of worship, and that worship is his just due.

Not to make too fine a point of it, but prior to Christ’s coming, (as in, Old Testament times) there was no Eucharist, but the Jews certainly worshiped God. And, as John Paul 2 said, the Jews are our elder brothers.

Without the True Presence, it wouldn’t BE a Church.
Amen to that (or better yet THE Church).

Funny how the OP’s religion is"other" (afraid/ashamed to state it?). What’s also curious is the fact that he/she started the thread then left (drive-by threading ). Stir the pot then leave?

THIS is what we believe. There is no “what if’s” about our very core. To even entertain this idea of no Real Presence is absurd and insulting to me. It should be to all Catholics.

My :twocents: (or drive-by posting). Cheers. :tiphat:

OK:)

But in what way is my reply not THEE Truth?

GBY
2 + 2 also = 4 , but that is not responsive to the matter, just as your post was not responsive, They asked a question, and you did not answer it.

it was a hypothetical, and should be answered as a hypothetical question, not as a denial of some truth. And the Catholic Church is about the Eucharist, but it is also about a whole lot more.

So no, hypothetically, if the Eucharist never existed, it would not be the end of the Church.

This isn’t “a teaching”; the real presence of Jesus is my reality, and it is not only the main reason for attending church (as opposed to, say, reading the Bible under a tree in the yard), but is a main reason why I do many other things.

The tone of your question doesn’t suggest that you’re asking if I would still go to church without it; it suggests that you don’t believe in the concept and are making some sort of opinion against it, which doesn’t move me one iota.
NOTE the poster of this religion is listed as OTHER!

I am Catholic! I have been to other Christian Churches many times, however, it does NOT even come close to being the same thing. At the end of last year, I was home-bound and my parish is about ten miles from where I live and therefore could NOT get to it, and although I know many Catholics in my city and their is a Catholic Church within a half-mile of my residence I was unable to walk to it (for health reasons) and also for health reasons driving was NOT an option and NO Catholic (although knowing of my situation) offered to take me to a Catholic Church. I, therefore, went to the local Methodist Church which is right across the street from my residence. I, of course, did NOT receive communion. The parishioners at the Methodist Church knew I was a practicing Catholic and were very welcoming towards me. They went above and beyond for me even offering me their home phone numbers should I need any assistance, AND one of the parishioners took me right after service grocery shopping since I was in need of food and was unable to get their on my own.

Not all Catholic parishes fail to assist those in their midst who have needs. but all too many do; yours is not an isolated matter.

And thank you for your :twocents: :tiphat:

I said the Catholic Church’s core is the Real Presence. You’re preaching to the choir. I am fully aware the there is more to the Church. But are those things the reason for the Church in the first place? I say no. You said it if the Eucharist never existed it would not be the end of the church. I say if the Eucharist never existed there would be no Church in the first place.

What was the question I missed?

THAT FRIEND IS A VERY GOOD POINT, but might it also be a bit of an excuse?

I’m 72 and a life long Catholic; and a very active one for 30+ years.

It has been my experience [having taught our faith, and defended it for at least that long]
that their is a very fundamental difference between catholic and MOST non-catholic worship services.

Because we Catholics Do have Jesus [GOD], really, Truly and Substantially Present in each and every Church and Mass; our emphasis is God centered as it ought to be.
worship services, Other Christian churches NOT having the reality of GOD in their midst, place the emphasis on fellowship.

Neither is bad, BUT which is the greater good?

My FRIEND, simply call the parish OFFICE and let them know of your need. I have NOT the slightest doubt that it will somehow be met:thumbsup:

God Bless you;

Isa.55 Verses 6 to 8

[6] "Seek the LORD while he may be found,
call upon him while he is near;

[7] let the wicked forsake his way,
and the unrighteous man his thoughts;
let him return to the LORD, that he may have mercy on him,
and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
[8] For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, says the LORD…
