Thank you for your helpful responses. Let me update you on the situation. From the time the accused receives the subpoena, almost everyday wife’s sister was posting on Facebook (public) containing threat, curses, and words that made me feel uncomfortable. I don’t want to argue with my sister in-law or any woman, especially online. And I don’t have to stoop down to the level of someone with skeletons in their closet. So I let her bark. When my wife asked me to help his bro settle the case prior to serving the Warrant of Arrest, I told her that her sister must stop from making senseless posts against me and somebody must take control of everything so that it will be contained. I asked the family of the victim if they are open to settlement. The mother of the victim said ‘yes’ because her husband doesn’t now about his deaf mute daughter and they prefer not to tell him due to fear. I asked the victim and her mother to execute an Affidavit of Desistance then before the City Prosecutor and they did because this case will also incur their family expenses and time that they can’t afford, and the stress would cost the victim and her family due to the distance of where the case is heard from their residence. They want peace and privacy so they decided to move on from this and start a new life in the province. I just did wife’s family a favor that’s why I cannot comprehend why my sister in-law continue to hit me on Facebook. She pushed me to my limit and I was not able to do humility. I posted my response on Facebook. I told her that if she won’t stop from harrassing me, I will tell her employer about this, including her immoral or indecent conduct. I reminded her that she has 3 kids as evidence for the crime of infidelity that she committed. She and the paramour is working for the same company. I hope that would be the last retaliation statement I gonna do or say. The more I counter act the more I am becoming like them. After assessment and analysis, I realized that wife’s family wants me to be permanently separated from my wife because they can’t stand on their own. We’ve been married for almost 10 years but her family still her priority and her support to them is extraordinary. She played the role of her parents. She sent her four siblings to schools. Every month she send financial support to his parents, siblings, nephews and nieces.

I am not good in the eyes of my wife and her relatives. For them I am a traitor. She said nobody appreciates a traitor. From old ages traitor are stoned/burned to death. She expects complete loyalty from me. Extending my vow to her extended family. She wants me to take side in every way to protect her brother. Unconditional love. Blind to all.
So your wife prefers a rapist to an honest and just man who protects someone without a voice? You are NOT a traitor!!
Your wife does not realise what a good man you are and she should be very thankful that had the rapes happened to her, she would have a man that would seek justice!
Why is she not angry at her brother?
I will pray that your wife sees reason and the truth!

Goodness! Prayers said!

I am worried for your son, to be honest, that he will not be raised in a particularly sane, stable or wholesome environment. If you are not able to reconcile with your wife, I hope that you are able to maintain custody of the boy. It doesn’t sound like you have been able to see him much, have you?

A family that would choose a rapist over an honorable husband and father such as yourself is no place to raise a child! Those are certainly not values you would want passed down to him.

And as a previous poster has mentioned, if there are other circumstances of abuse going on among that group, it makes your son’s situation much more urgent. God bless and guide you!
