I’m happy that you have the 1st Communion question resolved, but I do have a concern. How do you receive Communion? I wouldn’t be asking this, were it not for the fact that you brought-up the issue yourself, but I am concerned because it seems to me (and I hope I’m wrong) that you aren’t receiving Holy Communion at all, and Celiac’s might be the reason. Please understand that I don’t mean to pry into your personal situation. But allow me to say that over the years, I have always been able to make use of some legitimate accomodation so that any parishioner who has Celiac is able to receive Communion one way or another. I pray you can work with your own pastor to find a solution that does work for you.yes Celiac disease is the reason why. You are not prying at all. I appreciate the interest, I’ve even tried just recieving the precious blood. We have a new priest who did suggest putting aside a portion of wine for me. So it’s a continual work in progress. I’m just excited to raise my youngest right.Please understand that I don’t mean to pry into your personal situation. What I do in this situation is simply to consecrate a very small dedicated chalice–that avoids the particle issue for the 2 people who currently need it. I use a very small chalice that I fill before Mass to avoid the pouring after the consecration, and that chalice isn’t used any other time. Just a thought.You are not prying at all. As far as I know, they’re all the same letter, not multiple letters. If there’s a Protocol number included, that’s how you can identify if the letter is the same or not.By searching one key section of the letter online, I am finding nearly 11,000 matches on Google. This would suggest that multiple letters with the same text are being widely distributed.

I’ve been to parishes that do something similar. Most parishes in my area tend to distribute under both species anyway, but even when they don’t, they will have a chalice set aside for those with wheat allergies.
