Dear whatevergirl… God bless you, for this. I will read and re-read this, many times in years to come.
Except for my mother… who suffers from Alzheimer’s Disease… I am alone this Christmas. I’m grateful for the presence of my dear mother… but every day she slips a little further away from me. It has been difficult dealing with it… since my two sisters live in other states… and seem too wrapped up in their own lives and difficulties… to come and visit our Mom.
I have resolved to give my dear mother the best Christmas I can… this year. It was so sad, the other night… she forgot what Christmas is. I had asked her, the question… just to see what she would say… and she said… “It’s Santa’s birthday”. I gently reminded her that Christmas is Jesus’ birthday. But this incident broke my heart, and made me realize… how much of her is now gone. And will never return. I am also missing very much, my late father… who passed away in 1988. So… I’ve been feeling lonely and depressed.
Your post has helped me greatly. Thank you. (((hugs))). And I wish you and yours a very blessed Christmas.:angel1:
