Celebs Ask Obama to Come Out for Same-Sex Marriage
San Francisco (AP) - An advocacy group says Anne Hathaway, Martin Sheen and Jane Lynch are among a group of actors, athletes and business leaders urging President Barack Obama to support marriage rights for same-sex couples.

I thought Martin Sheen was purportedly Catholic. 🤷

Many purported Catholics continue to defend the most pro-Death President in the History of Our Country.

Many purported Catholics are in the Obama Cabinet-supporting the most pro-Death President in the History of Our Country.

Shoot, even the Vice President to the most pro-Death President in the History of Our Country is a purported Catholic!

Surprised?

Hell in a handbasket.

God Bless you.

Yes, I am that you don’t know that the Catholic Church considers all baptized Catholics as Catholics even when they’re in a state of sin. To whatever extent you accept what the Catholic Church teaches, it’s worth knowing that one of its teachings is that confession and absolution is available to even the worst Catholic sinners.

Well, FYI, for the good of their soul (in danger of damnation), they need to repent:

Vatican Archbishop Burke: Public Repentance is Required for Pro-Abort Politicians

ROME, October 12, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Speaking at the Human Life International World Prayer Congress Saturday, Archbishop Raymond Burke received sustained applause when he noted that Catholic politicians who support abortion are required to repent publicly.

Speaking to pro-life leaders from 45 nations, the Prefect of the Apostolic Signatura (the highest Vatican court) also noted that those who recognize the scandal caused by such public, dissident Catholics assist the Church in repairing a serious breach, but are nevertheless often ridiculed for it.

Achibishop Burke stressed that “both bishops and the faithful” must be obedient to the Magisterium – which he described as the teaching of Christ as handed down through the successor of Peter and the bishops in union with him. “When the shepherds of the flock are obedient to the Magisterium, entrusted to their exercise, then surely the members of the flock grow in obedience and proceed with Christ along the way of salvation,” he said. “If the shepherd is not obedient the flock easily gives way to confusion and error.”…

They need to Repent! And hear the Good News!

Now you know too.

God Bless you.

Politicians are engaging in an odd sort of kabuki theater regarding same sex marriage. In my opinion, the vast majority of politicians in both parties support some kind of same sex unions, but most feel they have to say they are not because they fear the extraordinarily well-funded anti-marriage organizations. This is why so many nominally anti-marriage pols come out in favor of same sex marriage soon after they are done facing elections - Dick Cheney, for example. Some politicians, including Obama, have tried to take a middle road by supporting civil unions that are more or less marriage under another name. That looked like it would work a few years ago, but recent events in Maryland suggest that won’t work any more. It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the next election cycle. Last time around, the feeling was that the pro-marriage people didn’t consider it a voting issue, but that the anti-marriage people did. As a result, pols went mostly anti. This time, there is little heat left in the anti groups, but still a lot of money. Politicians in both parties are going to have to think hard about whether they want to be honest and appeal to swing voters, or stay “traditional” and go for the cash.

Anne Hathaway was raised a Catholic as well.
I support their views as I do support same-sex marriages/unions. This has been the source of a lot of conflict personally between continuing my life in Church.
Also, it’s nice to see how most of you pass judgement. 👍

They probably know that Obama’s time is coming to an end and want him to put in same sex marriage legislation before his time runs out.

Just because Catholics are Catholic ad aetrnum, doesn’t mean they’re good Catholics.

Unless you accept everything that you know the Church teaches, you entirely reject the Church.

There is no exemption.

At least 31 States have voted down same sex marriage when the matter was put to a vote. This is a large reason why politicians do not wish to embrace the push for gay marriage and why gay marriage supporters prefer putting the question to judges rather than to the citizens.

Progressives continue to push their anti-true-love and anti-life agenda on the rest of us. They believe they’re actually helping society.

Not at all! 🤷
Well, being Catholic means believing in whatsoever the Church says.
However, in general, I don’t think that if you don’t believe say in one part of the church that you reject all of it in principle. It would just be that you would not be considered ‘Catholic’ in the strict sense of the term.

Since you’ve mentioned society, well, there’s no proof that they’re not helping society.

I seem to recall she renounced the Catholic Church when she discovered her brother liked men, because how dare the Church say that it is sinful for him to have premarital sex with another man!

Personally I’m against the state sanction of marriage. It’s none of their business. If people want to file joint taxes, anyone should be allowed to.

Acting attracts an unusual amount of gay people, sort of like interior design or hairdressing. Therefore actors have a lot of friends who are gay, so they think it is much more acceptable than the general population. However, even the general population is beginning to lean towards gay marriage, as far as I can tell. I’m not so sure most gays even want it. (By the way, I’m against gay marriage.)0;)

Obama doesn’t need or be forced to support same sex marriage. It’s his own personal beliefs on the subject.

Civil unions are just fine.

Correct. It is another example of the ripple effect of sin. Her Brothers sin led to her renouncing her faith and supporting sin.
