Hey…some stuff is better left unsaid…or in this day and age…better to text it!

I’ve sent a text or two to my hubby when he is sitting right across from me.
I’ve done that with my BF - sometimes when we’ve been out with friends, and he’s being particularly sweet or kind, I’ve texted him a love note telling him how proud I am to be dating him. It makes him feel nice, without making anyone else feel uncomfortable, especially if we’re with single friends who wish they were dating someone.
My cellphone is always on, day and night. It’s the only phone I have (actually, I have two, but that’s a long story) so it’s the only reliable way to contact me. When I’m not in a position to take a call, or when the ring would disturb someone, I set the phone to vibrate. In Church, where I’d never “put God on hold” to take a call, I stuff it inside a glove or a package of kleenex so I can’t hear it vibrate (it’s quiet, but it might jingle some coins or something). Then it can still log the calls I miss, although I’ve never missed a call in Church so far.
I don’t answer calls on the can. I might answer calls in a restaurant, if the person I’m dining with wouldn’t mind. It’s common enough here in Korea to answer calls at the table. At work, I answer calls when I’m not in class. (I’m a teacher.) I do bring my phone to class because I use it as a clock, a stopwatch, and a calendar. If it rings in class, I ignore it. If the caller calls repeatedly, I’ll apologize to my students, answer it, and tell the caller I’ll call them back on my next break. I don’t wait for a reply - it takes all of ten seconds.
I admit that I answer the phone without thinking at 3am or whatever unreasonable hour it rings. It just doesn’t occur to me to ignore it.
