The last place I saw a lot of rocks left was on Alan Freed’s tombstone. Alan Freed is the famous DJ and promoter known for inventing the term “rock n’ roll” and his tombstone is a life-sized jukebox carved in granite. People leave rocks on it and I thought it was in tribute to him inventing the word ROCK n’ roll. I did leave a rock on it for that reason. But I remember now his father was Russian Jewish. (He’s not in a Catholic cemetery and the one he is in doesn’t care if you leave rocks.)
I also visited the grave of Jim Croce the singer who converted to Judaism and is buried in a Jewish cemetery and people had left some rocks and pennies on that one too.
