money is only as good as what people are willing to give for it. It is also just a means of facilitating commerce. Lets say that top 15% burned all of their money, it wouldn’t make a bit of difference. There is nothing stopping people from tradding goods and services with out exchanging money.
So instead of simply moving to a system that several other nations have proven to be successful, you feel better about all of us moving back to a barter system rather than making sure everyone has healthcare? Does the idea of everyone having access to healthcare really that repellant to you?
You’re right it does sound cliche. Its the same sort of convenient buzz word employers like to throw around to justify not allocating enough resources to projects so that they can have larger bonuses per quarter. I hope you are never forced to face the real world.
You are side stepping the point. If I earn the money, shouldn’t I have a say in which charity I give it to?
This is more than charity. Its a basic component of survival. If you don’t have a problem supplying roads to everyone, libraries to everyone, primary education to everyone, or funding a large proactively sized military for your government then healthcare is a no brainer.
