Thank you for the proposed edit.

I accept your suggestion and will include it the next time I post that litany of government programs that are broke.

Ponzi Schemes forever.

With government rampant.
And counterfeit scemes also, you neglect to say. Remember our money is not backed by gold therefore it’s created out of nothing. If you or I were to do the same thing we’d end up in prison, they do it all the time. Everytime a mortgage is written by a bank money is created out of nothing, its called fractional reserve banking, everytime the Federal Reserve buys a bond money is created by a few taps on a computer keybord. At least I’m smart enough to want to take advantage of it, before the day thhat WILL come where it takes advantage of all of us… Yoou just keep going on your politial path, it will get you no where. You are playing right into the Hegelian dielectic, and its playing you like a fiddle.Remember the evil nation Babylon carying off Israel, well sooner or later its going to happen to us, and having Republics in control will do no to stop it than Democrats We have worthless money, and All 4 sins named by Vatican2 that cry to heaven for vengence happen in America, our time is soon coming up.

We are not talking keeping someone by physically exordinary means, the onlything exprdinary in this sense is the money involved. Please discuss medical erthic with me. My grandmother was a nurse on a hospital floor with all types of basket cases, some that were curble and some not, and some where maybe the cure was worse than the disease. If it were not for my grandmother’s altzheimers Id be having her bang some heads together on this thread, Hmm theres a tiny chance I might. Even if Pathia’s life is maybe unsavable, lets the lady dies in the least amount of pain possible!!! For heaven’s sake! Quite frankly Roayal Archer you are begining to sound like my mother to me who doen’s believe in heart transplants because she thinks it interferes with God’s right to call a person home. I know what! so don’t hurt some’s pocket book, and we don’t have income brackets determining who gets to live and who doesn’t, why don’t we get rid of everything medical altogether then everyone will treated equil and a few filthy rich won’t have their dainty little pocket books hurt
Instead of demanding that everyone take care of you and your friends, have you ever considered being thankful for the blessings you have received?

What blessings? Iv’e worked more than 60hours a week most of the time in the last decade and a half and I’m now loosing my MINIMAL home. What blessings sir? Howabout you count your blessings instead of sniviling about a few bucks being taken from you! Look at the pot calling the kettle black.

You have had a long life, you’ve had a job, you’ve had a home. I am thank full for what I do have. I also live by the golden rule of doing unto others as I would have them do unto me. I don’t take from others, I share with those in need, and I defend the rights of others. I have not accused you of any of these things, so it is innaccurate to say that I am labeling your actions to be the same as mine.

Im 41, thats not long, I have had a job, big deal thats required for most of us to survive, Ive had a home, so did all my presescessors. ( yes I know my family history well) So I should count stuff that most trake for granted as a blessing. Thats malarky at its most obviious. Blessings would be like , finding a job in my degree field or related, my wife being healthy for a change, and have the time and resourses to work on my complicated plan to make abortion illegal in the USA, notw that would be a blessing. I by virtue of being human deserve a bit more than being like the log having to wait for the next scrap off the table of the master, and being happy with it. Anyone who thinks thats good enough for me is my enemy not my friend.

First off, “demanding that everyone take care of you and your friends” is a gross exaggeration. Have you looked at some of the systems in place in, for instance, Germany? Have a peek at this site for some information:
pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/sickaroundtheworld/countries/

Second, we have the government providing education available for everyone. I think it could be argued that basic health care is more important than education. Do you have a problem with public education being funded by taxes?

🤷

Your point is a good one. Recently though I’ve noticed that many (though perhaps not RoyalArcher) are starting to propose the idea that the government should not provide education, and that only private education should be allowed. Because even this minimum provision is considered to be unfair. I can only assume that this position is being trickled down by the plutocracy, like the idea that deregulation leads to more prosperity for everyone even though all historical evidence points to the opposite. Many people have been fed a lie about how this country became a success.

Anyone can utilize public education. Only people who don’t make enough are covered by the health care.

Correct, what is being proposed would cover everyone, for basic good health care. Lose your job - you would still have health care. Pre-existing condition? You still have available, affordable health care.

“Pathia’s condition is treatable, but for money no one can afford” If the cost is so high that no one can afford it then you are inviting the general discussion of do we attempt to keep everyone alive as long as possible at all costs? Some things in life are more important than life. We are only on this earth a very small portion of our lives and this time we are given has many beautiful opportunities. Why waste those opportunities trying to cling on to extra years. It is almost like being on a vacation on a beautiful island and spending your entire time in the airport trying to arrange a later departure flight.
So you’re saying that it’s preferable for pathia to die rather than receive some sort of subsidized treatment via the taxpayer or government guaranteed coverage. Convenient, considering you’re not the one with the life-threatening condition.

Collectively, it is affordable, because most people don’t suffer from such health problems. .

If what it sounds like Royal Archer is saying to us is actually what he means. I’ll give a benefit of the doubt and hold out a possbility theres a chance he might not mean that. But what ist sounds like he is saying is what he means, he can not call himself a Catholic, because that type of thought goes against any Catholic teaching on life and the value thereof.

education is a whole different topic. But isn’t freedom and human dignity more important than health?

Indeed, basic health care comes under the statement “Human Dignity” and it is particularly un-dignified the way the U.S. health care system permits some people to live.

AH a beg to differ! What is being proposed is for everyone.
Education costs are not sky rocketing.

They are only covering the first 12 years of education.

All home owners pay into education and all renters indirectly.

If you are not satisfied with your education taxes you can move to a different school district.

Education bennefits society as a whole, not just the recipient.

Children are innocent victims adults are not.

No, equil. Freedom is a word that is defined differently by different people, so is dignity. While I know you didn’t intened it in an earlier post. Telling me I should be happy with the little I have( that most take rightfully for granted) I should be happy with. I find that very insulting to my human dignity. Makes me fell like I’m be treated like an animal.

But some will get it for free while others will only get it if they pay many times more than the fair market value of the services.

Where on earth are you getting that mis-information from?

That is not true in any of the other 1st world civilized countries on Earth.
In Germany, for instance, copays and insurance costs are on a sliding scale. But there is a cap to the scale. AND remember that the country that spends the most per capita right now on health care is the U.S. WITHOUT universal coverage.

🤷

Education costs actually are sky rocketing, and don’t benefit society as a whole. Most of the people needing charity are the ones with only a highschool education, because there are no more good jobs out there for those without a degree.
