Ah yes, that’s a special case. That’s what the house rules say, quite explicitly. (Or what they used to say under the old regime – I haven’t checked to see whether that changed with the switch to the present system.)

No problem with using the same word twice. If the word is obtained by way of a different sequence, the game is just as much fun.

I posted the rules in Post 86.

There is a reason for the ban on proper names, which is the question of where you draw the line. If you allow, say, Egypt and Idaho, what do you do when someone plays Pukaqaqa and tells you it’s a place in Peru?

Similarly with personal names. If you allow Eisenhower and Ellington, you end up having to accept Ebbsmith or Endlebury, “because it was my grandma’s maiden name.”
 
I was also thinking to avoid creative spellings, like Aleesha, being a variation of Alicia.
