Good to see Bishops telling it like it is…even better that the papers are publishing it.

I really admire this bishop- he is one of the few with the courage to speak up against the scourges of sin in our world. God Bless him and I would that he were here in Boston.

When I think about it, why cant some (many?) Bishops just stand up and tell it like it is in the local Catholic newspaper (or even an editorial in the major city paper). Imagine the confidence boost that would have on the local (even national) Catholic moral.

There were rumors he might of been heading that way after Cardinal Law, but you got one of his fellow Capuchins instead. 👍

He was my Archbishop for four years when I lived in Denver, and he was a big influence on my growth as a Catholic.

Good for Archbishop Chaput. Chicago and Rockford could use men like him. All we ever get are the ‘go along, get along’ types.

These two are not cut from the same cloth. I would have loved to have had Chaput at that time. Boston’s Catholics will be years getting back their trust in the Church, Financial housecleaning was far more important, I guess, than the restoration of morality and accountability . Not many here feel very lucky 😦
