Tweety,
Don’t you see? You have it! 👍 … May we never stop yearning to be closer to God.
May you and your mum have a blessed Mother’s Day tomorrow.(Actually you’re on the other side of the world - so maybe it’s already tomorrow? ) )
And may the Peace of Christ remain with you always!
Deidre
Deidre, thank you for what you wrote… 😊

I had a wonderful day with my mum, brother, husband and 3+3/4 yr old adorable son, who is just growing up way too fast… 4 in September… oh no… then 5, then 10… I wish i could dip him in gold some days…hee hee 😃 and i also wish i could have every minute of his life on video tape/dvd as he is so imaginative and has a funny, funny sense of humour at his age and is extremely affectionate. 😃 Praying that he loves Jesus and our faith when he grows up…

Hope your day is as wonderful as mine was, even better… You are special! It is nearly 7pm here, so take 15 hours away and it is 4.30am MOTHERS DAY! “Happy Mothers Day.”

Deidre:
The greatest gift isn’t speaking in tongues or resting in the Spirit. The greatest gift is the humility that allows the Spirit to flow through you and out to other people. It allows you to follow Christ in your actions and your words. And the yearning that you speak of? God put it there as a gift also. May we never stop yearning to be closer to God.
Beautiful! You who are charismatics demonstrate the Spirit’s presence in your posts far more authentically than any of those who object to it! Would that they might know the heighth, depth, and fullness that you folks have found.

Jesus’s words reminded me of the yearning you spoke of as I heard the gospel this morning, “Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him.

And where God is dwelling, we find that deep humility and charity that is always evident in those who are His own. Unless we come to Him like children, He tells us we won’t even enter the kingdom. Mk. 10:15.

The humility expressed by those that keep patting each other on the back here ---- is astounding. It is such an example of witness to the one universal Church. It will warm our Pope’s heart-- that his words are making such an impact.

Pope Benedict XVI

“It was with this end in view that my Venerable Predecessor on the Chair of Peter, John Paul II, wished “to appeal urgently that the liturgical norms for the celebration of the Eucharist be observed with great fidelity … Liturgy is never anyone’s private property, be it of the celebrant or of the community in which the mysteries are celebrated” (Encyclical Letter “Ecclesia de Eucharistia,” 52). For Bishops, who are the “moderators of the Church’s liturgical life”, the rediscovery and appreciation of obedience to liturgical norms is a form of witness to the one, universal Church, that presides in charity.”

Walking Home,

You just love to rain on everyone else’s parade, I notice. It strengthens us, so keep it up. 😛

Yes, he will indeed, and for this I offer many prayers that the Holy Father will be shown some of these threads where traditionists pridefully attack other Catholics who do not share their way of worship. I have considered sending a full report, but somehow I think that he already knows. 👍

Incidentally, were you aware of the forum’s rules against spamming? You repeatedly submit the same document content over and over again without any commentary, and nobody responds. IMO, this is against #28. New members are likely to be far more aware of forum rules than you who have been here awhile.

www.ccr.org.au

I got this website from **‘Catholic Voice’ **which is available at all Catholic Churches (as well as the ‘Catholic Weekly’ .) It has many, many Catholic web addresses, and all the relevant info to go with it.

For any Catholic who wishes to understand the CCR, please go directly to their website. I presume that most countries would have their own website for their Charismatic Renewal, but the address above is for the Australian one. I’m pretty sure our Bishop doesn’t tell fibs!

That’s all folks… God bless! 🙂

It would seem- our Pope is on to the bishops:

Pope Bendidict

For Bishops, who are the “moderators of the Church’s liturgical life”, the rediscovery and appreciation of obedience to liturgical norms is a form of witness to the one, universal Church, that presides in charity.

OK… let’s try this…

www.iccrs.org

It is** the **site for the International Catholic Charismatic Renewal.

Why can’t we build eachother up as fellow Catholics? I worry about my relationship with God and if i find something that brings me closer to him - all the better!

For those who do not understand the CCR and what it has done for the Church - please lighten up on the Charismatics. The CCR does **not go against the Church, the Pope or any of the teachings of the Catholic Church. Why is this so **hard for people to hear and believe? We should not be conveniently *deaf *when it comes to the Lord or Rome. The Charismatic Masses wouldn’t have been be held in our **Cathedral **for heaven’s sake if it were against Rome! The Archbishop says Masses there, surely he knew that the CCR had Masses there too!

This is getting to be ***truly ***ridiculous.

It is an individual choice to participate or not. No one is forcing anyone to join the Renewal. 🤷 🤷 🤷 You do NOT have to go to the CCR and participate. That is not a requirement in our faith. And, if you are against it, cool - your choice! But why bash other Catholics for something which only does them good, not harm.

We are all on our own personal journey with the Lord. Surely he wouldn’t be pleased with all of this disharmony.

So much bitterness and arrogance here amongst God’s children. tsk tsk and yes, unfortunately the majority is from people against the CCR. So if i had to choose from reading all these posts - i know which one i would** run **to and where i think i would ‘*feel’ *Jesus and love *from * my fellow Catholics more. (No offence intended - just pure honesty.)

Seriously, you are all really helping me decide that i DO want to join the CCR!

Those being negative and nasty, just make my belief stronger. I would have thought that as fellow Catholics we would build eachother up when we were trying to get closer to God, not tread on eachother. But we also have a right to defend what we believe in or don’t believe in i suppose in this one…

God bless us all.

Having a relationship with our Lord also means that we have a relationship with the Church. We are joined to the Lord thru the Church’s prayer–the Mass. Once we give in to our own inclinations—which disrupt the Church’s prayer–we also disrupt our relationship with our Lord.

Walking Home,

Australian Priests and the Australian Catholic Church sure must be different to yours in the US. We are told that we MUST strive to have a personal relationship with Jesus. That has nothing to do with **not **having respect and a relationship with the Church. Mass is the important one, yes, but don’t under estimate a personal relationship with God.

Sorry, i respectfully and peacefully disagree with your views - but they are that - your views, and you are entitled to them.

Not here to argue or put down, just here to spread the love…

I love everyone and i want peace between my fellow Catholics.

God Bless.🙂

Yes we disagree. To me obedience to the norms–is obedience to the Church our Lord founded and this reflects obedience to our Lord.

God bless you on your journey. 🙂

Thank you. To bad --you and I – do not seem to be on the same journey. You are always welcome to join us who do not give in-- to our own wants and inclinations–but instead join with Church in Her prayer to our Lord.
