They do seem happy, even if you are not!

news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4405674.stm

This article is about how Camilla has ended Charles’ lonliness on the international scene.

What’s your impression of Charles & Camilla? Have you been impressed? Depressed? Or are you disinterested?

I saw a tabloid headline at the store the other day that said he is cheating on her.
Serves her right.
She may have finally gotten her man, but she was a homewrecker to get there.
Now that there is not Diana to watch and admire, I don’t care what they do.

HE was the homewrecker, not her. I find it totally bizarre that the media makes Charles out to be somehow unfaithful to his long-dead wife, while totally ignoring the real victim in this mess, Mr Parker-Bowles, Camilla’s lawful wedded husband.

And I have never found anything to watch and admire about Diana, I found her totally nauseating. The media (followed by most of the population) heaped praise on her just for doing her job visiting hospitals etc (That’s what Royals DO for the zillions the State pays them). She had the nerve to not be satisfied with the ultimate dream of marrying the heir to the throne, but actually demand that he love her as well! And the last straw was the way that the media and their stooges wept buckets over her SELF-CAUSED death, far more than they weep over people they actually knew.

I have only seen one brief news clip of the Prince and Camilla. I am not a royal watcher. My husband thinks people who fawn over royalty are very low, but I must admit that I was fascinated by Diana because whe was so pretty and stylish. Really, I say that with a bit of shame though.

While visiting England this summer, several tour guides explained how having a monarchy is great for tourism, and for this alone England should be greatful to have the royals.

Since we don’t have a monarchy here, our paparrazi stalk the Kennedys and movie stars.

They have to get married in 70s, now it´s unaivoidable but it´s very sad.

Isn’t Camilla’s ex husband (Mr. Parker Bowles) deceased? She is Catholic, too I heard. Not sure though.

As to what I think of them, I’ve never been interested much in today’s royals. I’d rather read about the ones from the 1500’s, much more interesting 😃 I can’t help but think of her as a homewrecker though. But Charles is just as bad. I suppose neither of them were faithful to their spouses.

Completely disinterested. Moreover, as a Canadian, I will refuse to refer to them as King and Queen should that occasion arise.

Franze, they both had choices. Perhaps not the choices they wanted, but they still had choices.

Looks like only the media is interested in them. 😦
Well, I quite like Prince Charles. I think he is quite a forward thinker, always has been. If you look at his stance on organic farming, he was years ahead of his time. He cares passionately about this generations legacy and the environment.

I think it has been really tough with his marriage, but he seems genuinely happy now and that must be a good thing, right? I’m glad he’s around. To err is human.

I agree. Moreover I think his views on human-scale architecture are extremely sound and needed.

His humanness is not in question. His ability to be King is in question. For me that question was answered years before he was married to Diana. He has too much of his father in him, and not enough of his mother in him to be a good king.

I’m sure Camilla is far nicer than it is made out, I feel sorry for her and the way she is treated like. She was not really a homewrecker, Diana had many problems of her own, she was Bulimic you know.
And I have never found anything to watch and admire about Diana, I found her totally nauseating. The media (followed by most of the population) heaped praise on her just for doing her job visiting hospitals etc (That’s what Royals DO for the zillions the State pays them).
Thats true, Charles visited my sisters school a year or so ago, he was very nice apparently.

She is catholic yes, that was a case to try and prevent their marriage, there is a document that states royalty should never again marry a catholic. It is also far more fun learning about Kings with 6 wives leading to a church reformation… 🙂

Well, I think the whole lot of them a pretty selfish and childish bunch. All the fuss they each made over who was unfaithful to whom when they were all unfaithful is just plain ridiculous.

I think Charles handled Diana quite poorly. He didn’t have to love her, but he should have respected her and not been so short-sighted. He was jealous of the public attention she got when he should have let her help boost the image of the royal family. And Diana acted like a baby trying to compete with Charles and expecting a man much older than she to treat her like an equal, which she wasn’t–at least not emotionally.

Camilla is good for Charles as a wife and future queen even if she isn’t as photographic or as interesting as Diana was. She doesn’t throw public fits or try to upstage the Prince of Wales and heir to the throne. She has some sense, at least. And she isn’t and never was Catholic. Her former husband was Catholic and their children were brought up Catholic.

I hope he won’t muck things up with his marriage, when he gets married, not if England wants to keep their monarchy, which truly is the only thing people are interested in when they go to England. What else do they really have?
Kebabs.

I’m sorry but that is one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever heard! As someone who lived there for a couple years all I can do is shake my head. Please, Della, don’t add to the stereotype of self-absorbed, ignorant Americans.

fish and chips… erm… some old catholic stuff (lindesfarne gosples - very beautiful) etc … erm … art galleries … erm… old universities … phew this is hard. 😃

he he he, we all know that isn’t true, well the clever ones do.

ha ha love it. It’s funny how they say “KAY BOBS”. My friends and I still laugh about late nights out at Leicester Square where the only food option was “street meat”. 😃

AMAZING culture, diversity, beautiful buildings, lovely people (and men with really good manners, i might add!), fun night life, lively politics, news stations that actually report NEWS, soap operas with people who look normal- sometimes they even are over weight or have bad teeth, imagine that!, easy access to organic food…

shall I go on? can you tell I miss it??
