You have never explained that to me, even though I have repeatedly ask you that question. How is the one body of Christ divided up into thousands of denominations based on different doctrines?

Also, not believing in our Church does not give you the right to ad hominem wording and outright attacks on our Church. You are supposed to maintain respect for our faith and Church on this forum.
I thought the Roman Catholic Church teaches that various Protestant Denominations are part of the body of Christ since the magestrium call us your separated brethren. If that’s true, then you can answer your own question.

What particular Church do you attend?

Oh, thanks for going out of your way to be charitable in your response.

What are you praying for me for, that I receive the Roman Catholic Church as being the one true Church? I’m already united to Christ by faith. And your church calls me your separated brethren. I believe the unsearchable riches in Christ is found in Christ alone, and not the Roman Catholic institution. Why do you want me to take my eyes off of Jesus Christ for a religious organization?

Hebrews 12

Jesus, Founder and Perfecter of Our Faith

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
You by using Scripture just successfully refuted paragraph 149 in the Catholic Catechism that states that Mary is the purest realization of the faith. Jesus Christ is MY purested realization of the faith. JESUS the founder and perfecter of our faith. Amen!

That’s where you are wrong. Where in the Scriptures does Jesus say that upon this rock I build the Roman Catholic church?
Do you guys know where the name Catholic comes from? Serious question. It would be nice if you two could add a little charitibility to your posts you know. Christ taught to love your enemy and we certainly aren’t your enemy, so surely we can find a way to be civil towards each other. Don’t you agree??

Where do scriptures say all you need is scriptures? You know, produce a scripture supporting or teaching sola scriptura.

I believe in the catholic church as stated in the Apostle’s creed. However, the Roman Catholic Church is not the same as the catholic church stated in the Apostle’s creed.

There is only one Catholic Church.

I surely agree. How about that charity be mutual?

Who said anything about Scripture alone? How about addressing why you can’t get your beliefs to line up with what the Scriptures say?

There is only one Catholic Church.
I agree. However, the one catholic church is not the Roman Catholic Church. The one true catholic church is made up of all regenerate Christians found throughout redemptive history. They are united to Christ, where Christ is the head.

I’m certainly willing to give it a shot.

Now, I’m sure you’ve heard how Catholics gave authority to Peter who actually started the Church that eventually was named the Catholic Church.
A letter written by Ignatius to Christians in Smyrna [3] around 106 is the earliest surviving witness to the use of the term Catholic Church (Letter to the Smyrnaeans, 8). By Catholic Church Ignatius designated the Christian Church in its universal aspect, excluding heretics, such as those who disavow “the Eucharist to be the flesh of our Saviour Jesus Christ, which suffered for our sins, and which the Father, of His goodness, raised up again” (Smyrnaeans, 7). He called such people “beasts in the shape of men, whom you must not only not receive, but, if it be possible, not even meet with” (Smyrnaeans, 4). The term is also used in the Martyrdom of Polycarp in 155 and in the Muratorian fragment, about 177.
St. Ignatius was appointed by St. John, the Apostle.
Saint Ignatius of Antioch (also known as Theophorus) (ca. 35-110)[1] was the third Bishop and Patriarch of Antioch and a student of the Apostle John. En route to his martyrdom in Rome, Ignatius wrote a series of letters which have been preserved as an example of very early Christian theology. Important topics addressed in these letters include ecclesiology, the sacraments, and the role of bishops.

You’re Catholic? Oh little “c”, that’s separated brethren. 😉

I’m well aware of the teachings. I am an ex-cradle Catholic who was devout in practice for almost 35 years.

Well, I assume you believe in sola scriptura now. I apologize if I’m wrong. But certainly that is a teaching you can support by providing scriptures supporting that teaching. Once you do that I will certainly be glad to try and explain my beliefs as they align with scriptures.

The Emperor has no clothes! Protestants hate Catholics because of ignorance!

Newsflash: Not all Protestants believe in sola scriptura!🤷
Did you not see that I apologized in advance if I were wrong.

Wouldn’t that be an essential difference between you and Reformed? That’s the kind of thing that makes it hard for me to understand how alot of denominations can be of the one body of Christ.
