With that thought, can a member of the Catholic Church who is laity, baptize a sinner in his backyard, and will God regenerate (born from above) that sinner since the Catholic member performed the baptism? For Catholics anyone can baptized a person. The Church prefers that a priest does it and recommends that the laity not do it.
When a Protestant is baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as an outward sign on the inward reality, does God hold back regeneration (baptismal regeneration)?
