As did the Apostles, yes. As many times as I have seen both the official teaching and the Scritures, I have never seen a disconnect.
Okay, so you believe your infants are all born again through the sacrament of baptism, correct?

You Must Be Born Again

3:1 Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2 This man came to Jesus [1] by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him.” 3 Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again [2] he cannot see the kingdom of God.” 4 Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” 5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. [3] 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You [4] must be born again.’ 8 The wind [5] blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

9 Nicodemus said to him, “How can these things be?” 10 Jesus answered him, “Are you the teacher of Israel and yet you do not understand these things? 11 Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know, and bear witness to what we have seen, but you [6] do not receive our testimony. 12 If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13 No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man. [7] 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in him may have eternal life. [8] - John 3

Wow!

I read Justin’s blog, what he believes, and all I can say…is praise the Almighty Sovereign God for what He has done for Justin…to the praise of His glorious grace!!..
You changed the name of the thread in the subject line, which is against the forum rules. I’m changing it back to the original name.

Do you really think that God would lead this guy away from the Church built by Christ?

Therefore, you agree on the official Roman Catholic teaching of baptismal regeneration?
I believe the Bible and the Catholic teaching of baptismal regeneration.
Joh 3:5 Jesus answered: Amen, amen, I say to thee, unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Ghost, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Joh 3:22 After these things, Jesus and his disciples came into the land of Judea: and there he abode with them and baptized.
Tit 3:5 Not by the works of justice which we have done, but according to his mercy, he saved us, by the laver of regeneration and renovation of the Holy Ghost.
Act 2:37 Now when they had heard these things, they had compunction in their heart and said to Peter and to the rest of the apostles: What shall we do, men and brethren?
Act 2:38 But Peter said to them: Do penance: and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of your sins. And you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Act 22:16 And now why tarriest thou? Rise up and be baptized and wash away thy sins, invoking his name.
1Co 6:11 And such some of you were. But you are washed: but you are sanctified: but you are justified: in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and the Spirit of our God.
Rom 6:4 For we are buried together with him by baptism into death: that, as Christ is risen from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we also may walk in newness of life.
1Pe 3:21 Whereunto baptism, being of the like form, now saveth you also: not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but, the examination of a good conscience towards God by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Heb 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart, in fulness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with clean water.

Thanks for your reply. It actually is the Biblical answer. I reread your post, and I still maintain the same truth as I stated before. You provide no new truth, nor additional richness of the existing truth which I shared with you. Here’s a broader statement that covers this particular idea of Catholic teaching of baptism as well… There is nothing in Catholicism that conflicts with anything in the Bible. There is nothing in the Bible that conflicts with anything in Catholicism.

Those who have ears to hear, yet hear only what they want are not listening to Christ, but to themselves. The Catholic Church does not do this, but listens more fully to Christ than any other faith.
Since you hear the voice of the Catholic Magestrium, please share if the numerous anathema’s of the Council of Trent applies to Justin?

I actually believe God calls out His elect from the Roman Catholic institution.

First, do you believe in Catholic Councils, and their teachings, or are you attempting to mock them?

I actually read the Forum rules and don’t understand your interpertation of those rules. Please answer my question in regards to the anathemas of the Council of Trent in regards to Justin. I believe Justin’s foundation is built upon the Word of God, and not Catholic councils. The Council of Trent has no power to condemn an ex-catholic to Hell.

God’s Everlasting Love

31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be [8] against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? 33 Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. [9] 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it is written,

“For your sake we are being killed all the day long;
we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”

37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. - Rom 8 🙂 😉

The very fact that he keeps changing the subject headline shows his true motives for posting. I don’t doubt he believes he knows truth, but I doubt he’s trying to post in a charitable way. The true motive is to stir up the pot and get Catholics upset. When you have “truth” you don’t flaunt it at other people, you try to share it. This poster has not tried to share his “truth” but instead humiliate those who do not know it. Now we Catholics all know he doesn’t have truth, but if he did, I wouldn’t be interesting in knowing it because of the way he has behaved. Quoting scripture means nothing to me. If there wasn’t a church to proclaim the scriptures inspired, there is no way to truly know they’re inspired. Without the church you have no proof on which books belong in the bible.

Pray for Justin and Reformed as there is always hope.

Pray for me too if you get the chance! 👍 👍

I see that you answered my question, but in a round-about way. You obviously don’t believe in Catholic Councils, but are trying to mock them.

The Catholic Church is the protector of the deposit of faith, and is an infallible interpreter and teacher of God’s Word. **Can Jason interpret infallibly, or can you for that matter? **

**Unless you build your foundation upon the correct interpretations and teachings of God’s Word, you’re not really building on God’s Word. ** So, it’s misleading to say Justin’s foundation is built upon the Word of God, unless you can guarantee that the interpretation of God’s Word is made infallibly. Can you guarantee this with Justin?

No one has the power to condemn to hell, except God. **Your statement about the Council is therefore a red herring. ** The Council never condemned anyone to hell. In general, there is no reason that an offender can’t repent from their error(s).

The Catholic Church is the Church built by Christ, and the “Prime Minister” established by Christ has the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven given by Christ. Do you not understand this authority?

There has been a lot of confusion surrounding anathemas by Anti-Catholics, and I’ve never met any non-Catholic who understood this properly. From what you’ve written, neither do you. The penalty of anathema does not exist in church law. To go deeper into the Council of Trent or anathema is off topic of this thread.

That’s a pretty good dance for avoiding an honest question. I’ve been told that the Council of Trent only applies to ex-Catholics and Protestants prior to Vatican II. Here’s a chance to set the record straight. The Council of Trent is Sacred Tradition, correct?

I have prayed for you.

Anyone with a Bible and a keyboard can quote Scripture. That in itself means nothing. What makes the difference is the proper understanding of Scripture. These people are pretenders in that they pretend that their interpretation (even if literalistic) is infallible, yet it is very fallible and very often wrong. Yes, the poster exudes arrogance toward God’s Word, toward others, and is indeed very uncharitable.

Have you honestly considered that God shined his light into Justin’s dark heart to see to glory of God in the face of Christ? This is what I believe happened to Justin:

The Light of the Gospel

Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart. But we have renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways. We refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God’s word, but by the open statement of the truth we would commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God. And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing. In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 2 cor 4

I answered your question. Further, to say your question was honest is a stretch. From what I’ve seen, you’ve been told a lot incorrectly, including about the Council of Trent.

You asked “please share if the numerous anathema’s of the Council of Trent applies to Justin?” You were speaking in the manner of condemning someone.
My response was that the penalty for anathema is not in the Church law. Furthermore, you don’t understand anathema nor the Council of Trent.

If you need a translation of that response…, it means that since the penalty for anathema is not in church law, then the Council of Trent doesn’t have a penalty of anathema on Justin.

You’ve now come up with a new question, attempting it in a condescending manner. I find you to be very low brow, and you’re boring me with your arrogance. You’re still playing games here, and I’m not into that. If you want to discuss things, then act like a human being.

My name is Justin. I came to know the ‘real’ Jesus in 2004 during my sophomore in college. I was born and raised in a Catholic family, following all of the rituals and traditions that were passed down from my parents. At later point I will talk more in depth about my conversion from Catholicism to Christianity and how to share Christ with a Catholic.

I, like many Christians out there, am very disappointed and appalled to see Christianity heading in a downward spiral towards ambiguity. Many are out of touch with what they believe and are not able to explain their salvation in Christ.
Attention all My Elect on earth… and everyone else too:rolleyes:

this just-in…

a wise and studious youth has wonderfully rejected the only Church begun by my Son…

show this young man all charity and kindness as you pray for his misguided path … he will return stronger and steadfast just as many have done before him.

Love you,

God

Speaking the truth in love is the charitable thing to do.

Galatians 1:10

For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.

Another Roman Catholic trying to speak for God. The good news is God has spoken authoratively through the Scriptures.

MrS,

There is no attempt from this person to do anything other than attempt to taunt and play games. For someone to be so miserable as to believe this somehow therapeutic, is really sad.

He was banned from another Catholic forum for repeatedly changing the subject to other than the topic of the threads, in many instances on threads he started, as well as providing links to websites, like the one he’s posting here, instead of paraphrasing a particular part supporting any point he was trying to make and providing a link directly to that part of the source. He also crossed the line concerning the rule of proselytizing Catholics.

Just wanted to give you a head’s up on what you’re facing here.
