He was banned from another Catholic forum for repeatedly changing the subject to other than the topic of the threads, in many instances on threads he started, as well as providing links to websites, like the one he’s posting here, instead of paraphrasing a particular part supporting any point he was trying to make and providing a link directly to that part of the source. He also crossed the line concerning the rule of proselytizing Catholics.

Just wanted to give you a head’s up on what you’re facing here.
Thank you. I had put this person on my ignore list, and wasn’t going to participate further. When I received an email that you had posted, I came out of interest to read it.

I wonder how these people eventually feel when they find out the truth about what they’ve been doing and what they’ve been opposing.

I love Scott Hahn. Before becoming a Catholic, he had convinced some people to leave the Catholic Church. He says that now, he’s spending his life making up for that mistake.

If Jesus said that you must be baptised to enter heaven, and he did, then to deprive an infant of it is to knowingly choose hell for that child should he die.

Jesus never said that being Born again of Water and the Spirit meant accepting him as your savior. It means cleansing yourself of that which separates you from God (Baptism) and being joined to the Holy Spirit (Baptism).

this just-in…

a wise and studious youth has wonderfully rejected the only Church begun by my Son…
show this young man all charity and kindness as you pray for his misguided path … he will return stronger and steadfast just as many have done before him.

Love you,
God

Another Roman Catholic trying to speak for God. The good news is God has spoken authoratively through the Scriptures.
Just as you miss so much in Scripture, so too do you miss (perhaps intentionally) any pun or sarcasm.

The good news is that God has spoken authoratively through the Scriptures (2Tim 3:16)… including 1Tim 3:15

Just a reminder that the second step is the Scriptures “speak” authoritively through the Catholic Church, not any other.

So when you do get it right, I won’t accuse you of speaking for the Catholic Church… just acknowledge that you got it right.

MrS,

There is no attempt from this person to do anything other than attempt to taunt and play games. For someone to be so miserable as to believe this somehow therapeutic, is really sad.
True, but preaching to the choir sometimes is even more boring.

Posters like Reformed are good for honing the edge of the sword, so to speak. I get a lot tougher and more stubborn opinions from “old” folks at the supermarket. But with them, it is perhaps just because they are old. The youth, like Reformed, play games. I am okay with that. The Catholic Church wins every time.

.

Now as GOD’s people lets pray an extra rosary for our loved ones. Everyday the first rosary is for ourselves.

I am getting more stronger because of your faithfulness to GOD.
With all our prayers we will win this battle!

I enjoy someone who desires to discuss the truth, with no reservations, and go where it leads…, no matter where they start. I enjoy “the choir” very much, as I appreciate the love my fellow Catholics show for the Body of Christ. I enjoy challenges of discussing with those outside the Church, as long as there is a willingness to go where the truth leads. I don’t enjoy people wasting another’s time, when they have no intention of seeking truth, but have some preconceived agenda to promote a lesser goal at the expense of truth. Of course the Catholic Church wins, because God is the Head of the Church. A Catholic apologist on one hand has the easiest job of all, because there’s no possibility of losing as long as we stay in communion with Christ and the Rock of the Church. However, I have some obligation to use my time wisely and don’t enjoy when a hidden agenda or games tend to waste my God given time on this earth.

According to the book, “Saints Behaving Badly,” it was common in St. Augustine’s time that people not be baptized until they were on their deathbed, this way they were free from all sin when they died. At least that’s how I understand things. I don’t know why this came about when infant baptism was from the beginning.

here is the mission statement;

*My name is Justin. I came to know the ‘real’ Jesus in 2004 during my sophomore in college. I was born and raised in a Catholic family, following all of the rituals and traditions that were passed down from my parents. At later point I will talk more in depth about my conversion from Catholicism to Christianity and how to share Christ with a Catholic.

I, like many Christians out there, am very disappointed and appalled to see Christianity heading in a downward spiral towards ambiguity. Many are out of touch with what they believe and are not able to explain their salvation in Christ.*

WHAT SAY YE?

So tell us why you left the Faith. I am assuming that is why you started this thread. Give us your insight.

I actually read the Forum rules and don’t understand your interpertation of those rules. Please answer my question in regards to the anathemas of the Council of Trent in regards to Justin. I believe Justin’s foundation is built upon the Word of God, and not Catholic councils. The Council of Trent has no power to condemn an ex-catholic to Hell.

God’s Everlasting Love

31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be [8] against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? 33 Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. [9] 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it is written,

“For your sake we are being killed all the day long;
we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”

37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. - Rom 8 🙂 😉
When you are ready to seriously profess your faith and discuss your interpretation of Scriputre we are ready. So far it appears that everytime you begin to lose a discussion you change the subject. If the Lord is with you and against us certainly you will win the discussion. Pick a subject and let us focus on it. Put your Bible knowledge against ours and let us find the truth together. Certainly feel free to bring on-line your pastor or anyone else you feel you need. Catholics are not afraid of the truth. Do you wish to start a new thread with your subject on it.

I am here! without reading the Bible!

i thought these were the catharists / albigenianism that did the deathbed baptism…still a heresy because it denies any forgiveness for a baptised person.also holds element of the sin of persumption.ie party hard tonight tomorrow i will repent.

I have seen that before too, although it was never all that common all over Chrisendom. That is a risky gamble. Very risky indeed.

This kind of thing is the reason Tertullian rejected infant baptism. I guess he was destined for heresy lol

Yep.

Let’s say that we wanted to try that. We sin and sin, thinking we can be baptised on our deathbed and make it. What if the deathbed was a 2003 Peterbilt Tractor-Trailor? Splat, then hell.

There is no Baptism of Desire here because you choose to delay baptism to sin, not because you had more to learn or you had no chance ot be baptised.

I would agree. Besides that, genuine faith must be present at an adult’s Baptism. Living that way would kind of preclude any notion of faith being present.

True, but this gets to some deep theology. I am not sure if there is any real thought given to a baptism of an adult who has no real desire to BE Christian. We know that God’s grace can be ignored or even rejected, but how impactful is the act itself spiritually to someone trying to stack the deck?

I see it as an attempt to mock God. Never a good idea.

It is pretty deep. I guess that part is unavoidable. While the Church administering the Baptism will not be able to see the lack of faith on the part of the person and assume they are Christian and a member of the congregation, God, who is pouring His grace out in Baptism sees the hidden thoughts of man and the person’s rejection of the grace that is being offered knows the person is rejecting Him (or mocking Him, probably a better description). Such a Baptism would be voided by the person’s rejection.

The whole invisible/visible church tension 🤷

However, we might assume a one or two month old infant cannot possibly form the requisite intellectual faculties to believe in something (they’re still getting used to sight and hearing, let alone thought – I know my brother & his wife just had a beautiful baby girl). 🙂
