Chief exorcist Father Gabriele Amorth says Devil is in the Vatican

I have witnessed my own bishop emit an unbelievably non-human gutteral screech before the Consecration at a Confirmation Mass. The people in the pews looked at each other wondering what was going on. Our diocese is ranked among the bottom ten on Crisis’ Magazine rank of American dioceses.

Fr. Amorth is right.
 
I believe what father says. what place on earth the devil would like most to destroy?

i have no doubt that the devil is interested in our leadership trying to deceive them.

I believe what this priest is saying is entirely possible. Reminds me of the warnings from the Akita apparitions.

The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres…churches and altars sacked; the Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord.

I think instead of writing this guy off we ought to take it as a reminder to pray like we never have before for those in charge of our Church. In one way or another, they ARE under attack and a target by Satan. They need our prayers.

Absolutely. In a former parish of mine the pastor went from praising the perpetual adoration chapel to trying to get rid of it. The Eucharist in the monstrance had become moldy more than once since he began to move his support away from adoration. He had taken funds for the chapel and used them elsewhere without permission (still for the church) and is working toward making the chapel undesirable. Many prayers had been answered here in the past, but now when people go to adore, who have been adoring there for years, no longer feel the presence of the Lord. It is a huge concern for the adorers but the pastor passes the blame on to former parishioners. I believe he’s being greatly attacked by demons and doesn’t have the strength to fight them.

The same stuff is happening all over the place, this entire globe is filled with sinners…not just a few people within the church.
 
Fr. Amorth is the Chief Exorcist in the Vatican, that is true.

He is also the author of ‘An Exorcist Tells His Story’, and ‘An Exorcist - More Stories’, available through Ignatius Press.

I think if you read these books, you will see that Fr. Amorth knows what he is talking about. Some cases are as obvious as the one portrayed in the movie ‘The Exorcist’, others you would never even know there is a possession taking place.

I believe his comments refer more to those we do not see, rather than the extreme cases, although he has made mention that he has seen people throwing up chards of glass and other materials in the Vatican, and such things.

This is definitely a call to re-instate the prayer of St. Michael fervently, as priests used to do after EVERY Mass, so I have heard. This is not the case anymore, but maybe we should all email our parishes and insist that we do this.
 
The thing is, when you are invading enemy territory, you place yourself at risk of greater attack, I feel that Fr. Amorth himself is under the attack and statements like this are pouring out of him due to it. Nobody is above reproach along these matters, and we must consider statements made in these regards, that should be held in better scrutiny, for what they are, which are not from God…
 
I think it’s important for us to understand what Fr Amorth is saying here.

He’s not saying that the Papacy has failed or that the Church has failed. He’s saying that there are people in positions of power who are being attacked by the devil and some give in and are lead astray. Which I’m sure we can all guess already 🙂

He also said the Holy Father supports exorcisms and understands the power of the devil too.

So it’s not Fr Amorth vs the Church… it seems like some of you are implying that. That’s not actually what he is saying. He’s with the Church, but the Church has a human element as well as a divine one and the people in it are being attacked, because it is the true Church of Christ and the devil hates it.

As the Protestant Church has always proclaimed since the early 16th Century, Father Gabriele Amorth, the Papal Chief Exorcist confirms. The grisly fact that the Synagogue of Satan is in the Vatican.

I full believe in demonic possession and exorcisms, but some of the stuff in his book was a bit much for me to swallow, like all of the stuff about vomiting up items and warlocks and voodoo curses like “the evil eye”. I wasn’t quite sure what to make of it. It was very interesting though.

I don’t know much about Fr. Amorth. But I can speak to people vomiting up foreign objects. Whether it’s from mental illness or possession. I’m not qualified to say. Also, the practice of witch craft and vodoo are well documented. You say you full believe. Then you mention these things, which are common knowledge. As being hard for you to swallow. What gives?🤷

Evil is everywhere. Pray is the weapon of choice.

What is the Church’s position on people miraculously vomiting up foreign objects that they did not injest as described in his book? Or whats the Church’s position regarding Warlocks casting spells on people?

I fully believe in what the Church says about demonic possession and exorcisms. I’m skeptical of some of the stuff that Fr. Amorth says about magic and sorcery. Thats what gives.
 
Two quotes come to mind when I read this article.

The first: “Eternal Vigilance is the price of Freedom” The Church must always be wary of such attempts at infiltration.

The second: “If you look long enough into the void the void begins to look back through you”
It is possible that Fr Amorth is seeing devils where they do not exist.

Evidently, from what I have read, Exorcism can be very traumatic for the Exorcist as well as the others involved.
 
I am a bit skeptical about this story. I think that it may have either been quoted out of context or something else.
If reported accurately, I feel that the exorcist’s remarks are a bit over the top. Come on. It sounds a little fantastic.
But I do believe in spiritual warfare, that is true. Satan is always trying to attack the church and her people!

The things that magic and sorcery can conjure are varied. We are left to rely on the story teller. I assume the best for Fr. Amorth. You could atleast give him the benefit of the doubt. Couldn’t you?
