Childlike question about Jesus

I don’t know why my mind couldn’t grasp that Jesus could see me or you every second of the day, if He so willed it. Or maybe He sees everyone at the same time. Those are matters I needn’t concern myself with and I normally don’t. I was only curious as to if He had that power to do it but it’s like I’m doubting His power as God.

Scripture does state that the angels bring prayers to Jesus and then I wonder why do they bring Him prayers He already hears.

so I stay a little confused.
Martha, I think we all stay a little confused at some time or another. I think we all too often consign God to our concept of time and hold Him to our standards, not his.

That said, your worry about meeting your responsibilities in the face of hardship is a valid concern, it is in no way a failure of faith in God.

A priest said something in a homily recently that made a lot of sense to me. He said we are made in the image and likeness of God. A powerful, creative, loving, caring God. Then he pointed to the crucifix hanging over the altar and said “this is also an image and likeness of God.” And yes, we all have to go through our Good Friday’s to get to our own Easter Sunday.

One of the older nuns really disliked Therese, and constantly picked on her and tried every which way to make her miserable.

Therese just took it all in stride, often thanking the nun for pointing something out, and so on. After a while the nun asked her why she never fought back, and why she remained so kind to her, even as she was persecuting her. Therese said she could see Jesus in the nun.

After that, they became very close friends, and the older nun died peacefully because Therese was there, at her bedside, holding her hand.

Thank you. The problem is Deacon I can’t see Jesus in this woman because she speaks vilely and how can Jesus be in someone with such a wicked heart and filthy mouth, not a nun.
I did try.

I get it – just sharing a story of how Therese affected so many in little ways, ingenious ways.

Maybe we should call her the Ingenious Flower, or the Wise Flower?

Be merciful to me a sinner,
Deacon Christopher

Oh i know you were sharing Deacon thank you so much!! Sorry I was just in my clumsy way asking if I should do the same but I can’t see Jesus in someone like that, I really wanted to follow her little way with this woman but I was dealing with a vile person so I don’t know.

In regards of Jesus watching you all the time - short answer yes. This might make us uncomfortable at times but remember that there is nothing that you body naturally does that repulses Him. He created it.

I don’t know if you have ever been in love with someone. When you are besotted with someone, all you want to do is be near them, watch them, grow close to them. He is hanging on your every word, your every movement. He can see all of time and knows our lives far better than we do.

This is hard I know only too well but people are sometimes exactly what you need and when you need it. If you think about this I’ll bet there were some things you gained from this interaction. A while ago I was pontificating about how our enemies can be our greatest friends…unbeknown to them of course. This is a way to make the best out of the worst but there is truth in it, not just a psychological trick.

If I think about it saints that I’ve read of have seen that their crosses have been for their own spiritual good. At first that may seem perverse but look more closely, there’s the sparkle of a gem in that grime.

Thank you Lee and Latetotheparty. I ran out of hearts to give.

I wonder since you stated Jesus hangs on to our every word because He loves us, if that applies to mean people, evil people etc…
I guess I just have a hard time thinking He loves all who behave differently exactly the same since in Scripture He says things like Let the dead bury the dead, or says things like if you want to be the greatest be the least.
